Rome trip with package including WizzAir flights
I had a terrible time trying to book a trip to Rome with Expedia. The package I got included WizzAir flights, and since I had never flown with WizzAir before, I was counting on Expedia to guide me. But to my disappointment, Expedia didn't offer any advice or details about the airline. As a result, I ended up being scammed out of an extra €100 at the airport because WizzAir only allowed online check-in, something I didn't know about. When I tried reaching out to Expedia for help, it was almost impossible to talk to a real person. Even though they claimed to respond within 24 hours, it's been over a week and I still haven't heard anything from them. I'll definitely steer clear of using their services in the future.
Getting stranded without a place to stay
I got to the place I was staying, but turns out it wasn't there anymore. I was stuck, had to spend ages on the phone with Expedia, and ended up having to ask for my money back and depend on the generosity of strangers.
Post A level holiday booking
My experience booking a vacation after finishing my A levels through this platform was really frustrating. The host accidentally booked my place for someone else too, so I had to ask for my money back. But the host couldn't cancel the booking right away, so I had to spend 6 weeks on the phone trying to sort it out. The customer service wasn't helpful at all, just kept saying stuff like "our tech team is on it" and "the refund team has it, we can't do anything more" over and over.
Reward nights cancellation issue
I am so frustrated with the terrible customer service I got from this company. They sent me a mean email about my reward nights expiring, even though I made a new booking well before their deadline. When I asked for help, they were so useless and didn't do anything to fix the problem. It's obvious that they don't care about fixing this issue.
Honeymoon hotel booking
I recently booked a hotel for my honeymoon through this company, eh. Less than 24 hours before check-in, the hotel cancelled my reservation but still charged me the full amount, eh. Even though half of the payment was not due until arrival. I tried to reach out to Expedia for a refund, but they refused to take responsibility for passing my card details onto a scam, eh. They have not issued me a refund and have ignored all my complaints, eh. I highly suggest avoiding this company, eh.
Vacation to Essaouira with booking issue
My buddy and I booked an apartment for our trip to Essaouira, but when we got there, we found out it had been double booked. We were stuck with no extra money and no way to fix it because Maroc Telecom is the only internet provider around. There were no flights back for 4 days, so we were in a real bind. We were let down by the lack of other places to stay and annoyed that a simple mistake like this could happen when it's all done on computers.
Hotel booking error
Don't bother with this company, eh. I booked a hotel room for me, my spouse, and our twelve-year-old girl on their website. When we got to the hotel, they were all shocked that we didn't mention our one-year-old baby, eh. Because of Expedia's goof-up, we ended up with a room that wasn't big enough for us. No chance for an upgrade either, so we had to squeeze three folks into one little bed. Talk about a disaster, totally not worth all the trouble, eh.
Car hire booking issues
I booked a car rental online, but when I got there to pick it up, I had some problems. Even though I had already paid for it, the rental company wouldn't take my payment, which was a big hassle during my trip to Canada. Even when I offered to leave a cash deposit, they still wouldn't give me the car, so I had to rely on public transportation for the whole time I was there.
US domestic flight change
Just spent an hour on the phone trying ta change a US internal flight to an earlier one fer my family. The flights we wanted were cheaper but Expedia was tryin' ta charge us an insane amount for the change. The customer service was terrible, the supervisor ghosted me, and the whole experience was a nightmare. Expedia is the pits, avoid at all costs!
Recent Hotel Booking Experience
I just booked a hotel online through a big travel website. But when I got to the hotel, they told me my booking was cancelled by the website without telling me. I was stuck having to pay for a new room with my own money. When I called the website, they were not helpful at all and wouldn't give me a refund for the cancelled booking. I even showed them proof from the hotel that it was cancelled, but they didn't want to work with me. It was really frustrating and disappointing.
Travel booking platform
As someone who travels a lot, I've dealt with my fair share of different travel booking sites. But let me tell ya, the last one I tried was a total nightmare. They were so unclear about everything, had terrible customer service, and couldn't even get my bookings right. I was left high and dry, feeling totally frustrated. And when I tried to get a refund for a booking that never went through, all I got back was radio silence from their unhelpful team. It blows my mind that a company like that is still in business, allowed to treat customers so poorly.
Booking email error
I can't believe the nightmare I had to endure with this company. All because of a silly typo in my email address when booking, it turned into a whole day of chaos. I reached out to customer service for help with changing my email, but they were completely useless. They couldn't do a thing to assist me, leaving me unable to receive important emails from the property I booked with. Even when I tried contacting the property directly, their customer service was just as terrible - no phone support for future bookings and emails weren't even getting through. Dealing with this mess was a total waste of my time and energy, and I'll never use this site again. As someone who regularly arranges travel as an Executive Assistant, I'll make sure to tell all my colleagues to stay far away from this unprofessional and incompetent service.
