Double charged on credit card
I got charged twice on my credit card for my stay and had to reach out to customer service through email and chat. It was really frustrating dealing with Agoda to get a refund. I had to explain my problem over and over to different agents and still didn't get it sorted out after a week.
Got charged multiple times
So, you know, I was trying to book something online and ended up getting hit with three charges! First, there was a charge of $116.73 for something in Delaware, then my bank in the U.K. got charged, and on top of that, this $1 international transaction fee randomly showed up. My bank was all like, "What's happening here?" So we disputed all the charges and thankfully got our money back. When I called customer service, they were all like, "Send us your bank statement to prove it." Like seriously? Can't you check on your end? And to make it worse, the person on the phone sounded like they were in a whole other country. Not cool, man.
My unfortunate booking experience
I can't believe I got scammed like that. I booked a room for one day and when I showed up with my kid, the manager wanted an extra 500 bht in cash or else said he'd call the cops. He wouldn't give me my cash back and basically made fun of me. I got absolutely no service, just got taken for a ride.
Bad experience with booking
I had such a terrible time trying to book with this website. Once I finally confirmed my booking, they kept bombarding me with emails requesting my card details over and over. Despite me updating my card information, they still went ahead and canceled my booking, and then tried to pin the blame on the hotel and myself. When I reached out to customer service for help, they just turned around and blamed me once again. So unreliable, everyone should be cautious.
Travel booking experience
I recently booked my upcoming trip through a travel website and the booking part was easy and all good, but man, the pictures they had up were so misleading! The place I booked looked like a fancy, modern room, but when I got there, it was old and smelly, like it hadn't been cleaned since the 90s. It was not at all what I was expecting from the website. And to top it off, the location was way off from what they said - I was supposed to have a view of the beach but I was actually 15 km away from any beach!
Hotel room rental experience
My recent experience booking a hotel room through this platform was terrible. When I got to the property, I was shocked to see mold on the walls of my room. It was so gross and not okay. I knew right away I couldn't stay there. I tried to get help from customer service to fix the problem, but the reps were not understanding at all. They didn't seem to care about my concerns. Even though I asked for a refund for the room at "Towerhill Rooms", they wouldn't give it to me. I was so let down by the whole thing and definitely wouldn't suggest using this service again.
Double booking cancellation
Oh man, it was just brutal trying to cancel that double booking. I did everything right, gave them the booking number, dates, guest name, the works. But still, no help. They were all like, "Oops, the info ain't right," but wouldn't even clue me in on what was off. I just wanted to fix things, you know?
Misleading pricing
The prices on this website are super deceiving. They make it seem like it's for several nights, but really it's just for one night and doesn't include extra charges like taxes. That's just not right.
Hotel booking issue
I had a frustrating experience with booking a hotel recently on this online platform. When I got there, turns out they messed up the room type. I paid for a fancier room through a different site that was connected with the one I used. Even got confirmations for the fancier room, but they ended up giving me a standard one instead. It was so inconvenient and disappointing, especially since I paid more for the better room. The site offered me the standard room or to try and cancel it, but neither option was good considering I originally booked the upgraded room. The whole situation because both sites were connected ended up making my experience as a customer pretty negative.
Intentionally complicated and messy booking process
Why bother dealing with all these confusing and annoying booking steps that feel like they're designed just to make you shell out more cash? I kept getting looped back around in circles just to make a simple reservation. Shouldn't this be an easy process? Do yourself a favor and try a different platform, like the one that rhymes with "looking.com". Yeah, the prices might seem higher at first, but believe me, it works out to be the same cost in the end without all the extra hassle.
Hotel booking experience
To be honest, I really wish I had looked into things more before going ahead with booking through this company. I booked a hotel a few months back, but it ended up getting cancelled and I still haven't gotten my money back. When I reached out to customer service, all they told me was that my refund was sitting in their hyperwallet, but didn't give me any more information or a timeline for when I could expect to see it. It's really frustrating to deal with this lack of clear communication and the long wait for my money back. I wouldn't recommend relying on this company for any bookings.
Accommodation booking in Europe
I recently booked a place to stay through this website for my trip to Europe. The booking process was easy and they had a super tempting offer for a cancellation policy that was fully refundable. But when I tried to cancel less than a day later, I was in for a shock. They wanted to charge me a massive 96% cancellation fee. It was totally not what I was expecting and left me feeling disappointed. The customer service didn't really help and didn't want to admit they were at fault for having incorrect info on their site. They pointed fingers at the property owner, who then blamed Agoda. It was all just frustrating and not what I signed up for. I definitely wouldn't recommend using this site for booking accommodations.
Spa weekend booking
My partner and I were so excited for a nice relaxing weekend at what was supposed to be a Spa resort with a pool, sauna, and gym. But when we got there, everything was shut down for renovations until the end of April. The hotel said sorry and claimed they told the booking site, but the facilities were still being advertised. I got in touch with the company, had to show proof, and all they gave us was $23 as a way of making up for it. It was definitely a case of false advertising and the customer service was just awful. We're going to escalate this and try to sort it out.
Asia hotel booking
I booked this hotel in Asia on Agoda 'cause it looked amazing online. But when we arrived, it was a complete disaster! They were renovating the place, no chance we could stay. We had to scramble to find another hotel at the last minute, super stressful. I explained everything to Agoda, and they said, "Sure, just send us the bill for the new place and we'll look into a refund." But then they kept transferring me to different departments, Booking.com, Agoda, back to Agoda. It was beyond annoying and I still haven't gotten my money back. So frustrated!
Online hotel booking
My experience with this online hotel booking platform was pretty disappointing, eh. After I confirmed my booking, I kept getting emails asking for card updates, even though I had already done it. In the end, they canceled my booking and blamed me and the hotel. When I reached out to customer service for help, they just blamed me again, eh. Overall, I'd say this platform is super unreliable and I'd advise others to be cautious, eh.
Booking for a room
So, I booked a room on this site and let me tell you, it wasn't the greatest. The room I ended up with was so noisy, like not ideal at all. I made sure to include that in my review. Plus, turns out I paid 50€ more booking on this site than I would have on another one for the same room - what a bummer, right? And to top it off, they tried to bury my review just because it wasn't all rainbows and sunshine. Like, come on, all I wanted to do was share my honest experience!
Hotel reservation in Da Nang
So, y'know, I reserved a hotel in Da Nang for 40 loonies, but then Agoda ended up charging me 40 bucks in American dollars, which is totally not cool! Like, seriously, what's up with that? And now I'm trying to figure out how Visa can hook me up and get my money back. Ugh, frustrating!
Booked hotel stay
So, buddy, I snagged a hotel stay through Agoda, eh? Let me tell ya, it was a total rip-off, man. They gouge ya way harder than if you just go direct with the hotel. What's their deal, eh? And they don't even cover all the taxes like they claim on their site. It's like a total fib. Do yourself a solid and just book straight with the hotel, alright?
Hotel booking experience
I gotta admit, I was a bit skeptical about this website at first because I heard some not-so-great reviews, but I figured, why not give it a try? And boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The prices were way better than other big booking sites, and I even got a sweeter deal than if I had booked directly with the hotel. Everything went super smoothly and I didn't run into any problems at all while booking. I'll definitely be coming back to this site the next time I need to book a hotel.
