Booking - Reviews and experiences

I’m out a laptop and the whole situation was handled badly, so don’t go in expecting good security. I booked this place because it was on the conference accommodation list and a few people at the conference said it was handy, so I figured fine — close to the venue, cheap-ish, whatever. I only stayed because the conference was right there, but now I wish I’d booked something else.

My fam and I went through a scary situation at the place we stayed in Zagreb. Late at night, some random person got into my sister's room by using the reception code. Even though it was really upsetting, neither the hotel nor the booking site apologized or helped us out. This whole thing has made me super unsure about using this service again. I can't honestly suggest it to anyone else.
