    Hotel bookings for a 6-week holiday in China and Japan

    I just sorted out all my hotel stays for a big 6-week getaway in China and Japan using an online platform. I've been using this site to book my hotels for a while now because they've always come through for me in the past. One thing that really wowed me this time around was how quickly they refunded me when I had to cancel or switch a booking. They sent the cash right back to my credit card without any fuss, unlike other third-party sites that can take forever to give you your money back. It's important to me to be able to get my money back when I need to, because my travel plans tend to change a lot. Hotels.com really made it easy for me to do that. On top of that, I like how straightforward their prices are. They don't hit you with any surprise fees, taxes, or other charges after you've picked a hotel, unlike some other booking sites. I'm happy with the service I got and I'd recommend it to anyone else looking to book a spot to stay.

    Last-minute hotel booking

    Hey, steer clear of booking with this company if you can. So, last minute I booked a hotel only to find out there was a strike messing up my travel. I contacted customer service for help switching my booking but they were no help at all and wouldn't budge. I ended up out £220 for a room I didn't even get to stay in. Really terrible customer service.

    Recent hotel booking experience

    I've been using this platform for booking hotels for years without any issues. But man, my last experience really let me down. The hotel stay was terrible and when I tried to reach out to customer service to vent, no one got back to me. It felt like they just weren't getting that I had an issue with both them and the hotel. It seems like they don't even have a proper procedure to handle complaints, which is just not cool.

    Health and safety concerns

    Stayed at this hotel and man, it stank like gasoline. It was legit dangerous for us, like seriously not safe. We asked them to do something about it, but they ignored us. So we had to bounce in the middle of the night with no place to crash. Tried to complain to Hotels.com but all they did was offer a lame 10% off the next time we book. Bro, that ain't right!

    Booking disaster

    I had a horrible time booking a room through this online platform. Even after I paid in full, the hotel ended up canceling my reservation and selling the room to someone else for the next night. So now I'm stuck without a room and $867 down the drain. I definitely wouldn't recommend using this service if you don't want to risk losing your money.

    Booking at an adult-only resort

    My experience booking with this company was terrible. I booked a resort in Fort Lauderdale for adults only, but when I got there, they didn't have my reservation, even though I had confirmation. I spent hours talking to a rep trying to sort it out, and they ended up offering me a different hotel, which actually wasn't available either. Ended up in a 2-star family-friendly hotel with extra fees. Trying to get a refund was a pain and took forever. Basically, my vacation was ruined and I was so frustrated.

    Wasted time, no refund, zero help

    I am so upset about the terrible customer service from this booking site. They wouldn't give me a refund after I cancelled, wouldn't undo the cancellation, and wouldn't even let me book again with the same hotel using the money from the cancelled reservation. Their customer service is basically non-existent.

    My booking got messed up

    Oh my goodness, I was trying to book a hotel on this website and they ended up double-booking me for the same hotel on the same dates! Can you believe it? And then they wouldn't give me a refund, I mean, seriously, that's really not cool. I'm so mad, I feel like they totally scammed me. I'm definitely gonna report them to the authorities or something.

    Missed flight due to Hotels.com error

    I had a really bad experience with Hotels.com when I missed my flight because of them. I reached out to the hotel to see if we could work something out for my reservation and they were super nice about it, offering to help and give me a refund. But when it came to Hotels.com, they were not willing to budge at all and wouldn't let the hotel do anything to help me out. Their lack of flexibility and unhelpful attitude was so disappointing and frustrating for me as a customer. I would definitely recommend that others steer clear of using their services.
