My experience with a flexible ticket purchase
ChangesI bought a flexible ticket from Booking that ended up costing me an extra $300. When I needed to change my plans because of a medical emergency in Thailand, the customer service was really disappointing. It took forever to even get connected to someone through online chat. And then, once I finally did, I was only given 3 options. And when those didn't work, I had to start all over again. It was pretty clear that the customer service rep didn't really know what they were doing because they said some changes weren't possible, only to find out later that they were. They then told me I had to make an expensive long-distance call from Thailand to the UK to sort it out. The whole thing was so frustrating, especially since I had paid extra for what was supposed to be good service.
