Rotor -6 bolt in October
I recently had such a great experience with Competitive Cyclist! I ordered a rotor -6 bolt for my son back in October, but the tracking number showed that it was delivered to the shipper and they couldn't find it. I called their customer service and talked to a really nice guy named Jackson. He not only said sorry for the mix-up but also sent me the missing item for free with faster shipping. I was blown away by the amazing customer service from Jackson and the team at Competitive Cyclist. They were so professional and efficient, I was really impressed.
Bike pump purchase
I bought a bike pump from Competitive Cyclist not too long ago and man, was I bummed when it showed up broken! Dealing with the return and shelling out for the shipping charges on my end was quite the headache. It certainly wasn't the smooth sailing I was hoping for, especially with those pricey international fees in the mix.
Cycling gear purchase for a gift
I bought some cycling stuff as a gift, but the sizes were all wrong. I reached out to customer service through their chat on a Friday night and was happy with how fast they got back to me. I just bought a helmet from this site, eh, and gotta say, the shipping was kinda meh. Purchase - Ibis Hakka frames
I recently bought two Ibis Hakka frames from Competitive Cyclist, and man oh man, one of them was a real dud. It had all these dents and bumps, some as big as 2.5 inches! I was super let down by the quality control - like, how did they miss that? So when I contacted their customer service about it, they totally shrugged it off and wouldn't own up to their mistake. To top it off, they wanted me to pay for the return shipping, on top of what I already paid for shipping the frames in the first place. It's a real bummer because Competitive Cyclist is usually my go-to for stuff like pedals and bar tape, but they really dropped the ball when it came to pricier items.
Return Policy Fraud
The return policy at this store is just brutal. They slap on a $6.99 relabeling fee when you bring something back and then only give you half of what you paid for it. They hide this crucial info in some teeny tiny writing on a massive contract that's tucked away while they're promising you a full refund on their site. It's sneaky and sucks for us shoppers. If I'd known this, I never would've bought anything from there.
Bike purchase
I recently bought a bike from Competitive Cyclist and, to be honest, I was really let down by the service I got. After I made the purchase, it felt like I was on my own to sort things out. Dealing with warranty problems on my new bike was a real hassle and just got me frustrated. I had to rely on my own 10 years of bike tinkering experience to work through the issues. In the end, I'd suggest going to a local bike shop for better service and help.
Thule rack
I got a Thule rack that was all dinged up. They sent me another one, but that was a dud too. I got in touch with customer service through chat and email, but never heard back from anyone. It's really annoying when you work hard for your money and then don't get the help you need. I wouldn't suggest buying stuff here if you want decent customer service.
Recent purchase experience
It used to be my favorite store, but lately it's been a letdown. The shipping takes forever and the prices aren't great. I ordered something on August 14, and by the next day, it still hadn't even been picked up. Now I have to reorder and buy stuff around here because of the delay. Competitive Cyclist, you said 2-day shipping, but that didn't happen. It looks like shopping locally or on Amazon is the way to go now.
Got my bike, so damaged!
So, ya know, I got my bike from here and it was totally wrecked when it showed up! And then, nobody even bothered to lend a hand. Like, they didn't even respond when I said something about it. And to top it off, they lost the package for, like, weeks! Ugh, I swear I'm not buying anything from here again.
Carbon Saddle Purchase
I just bought a carbon saddle from this online shop, and I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed. Turns out they were charging more than the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the saddle. I did some digging and found that the saddle was going for $479.99 on the manufacturer's website, but over at Competitive Cyclist, they were selling it for $529.99. They didn't even bother explaining the price difference, which left me feeling kinda cheated as a customer. Plus, I learned that their price matching policy has some annoying restrictions that just make it not worth the hassle. Overall, I definitely won't be shopping at Competitive Cyclist again because of their dodgy pricing tactics.
Bought bike accessories
I had a terrible time with Competitive Cyclist. I ordered some bike accessories three months ago, and my order still hasn't been filled. I called customer service many times, and they kept telling me they were working on it, but nothing happened. On top of that, their payment system made my credit card get cancelled twice, which was so annoying. Like some other people said in their reviews, I felt totally ignored and had to deal with the whole mess myself. I won't be buying from them again, that's for sure.

I recently tried to use a promo code on this site and boy, was I let down big time. They had all these discounts and promo codes advertised, but when it came time to check out, none of them would work. No exclusions in the terms, so it felt like they were just pulling a fast one on me. Had to reach out to their sales support, and let me tell you, that was a nightmare. High-end wheelset purchase

Unlike other sites that give rewards even on sale stuff, Competitive Cyclist zilch you if the product's on sale, no matter how small the discount. The only way to snag rewards on sale items is by hitting this "gearhead" summit level, which means you've gotta make even more purchases. And let me tell ya, the perks at this level are not that great and seem to benefit the company more than us customers.
Defective product return
So I had this annoying problem with a product I bought online. After a month, they told me they returned it and refunded me. I tried emailing and calling, but got no response from them. All in all, a fantastic experience that I would definitely recommend to my fellow cyclists out there.

I gotta tell ya, this place seriously has the best variety of bike stuff I've ever seen. The folks who work here are amazing – they always give me great advice and remember what I like. The prices and deals are unbeatable, I always find what I'm looking for at a great price. Competitive Cyclist is now my favorite spot for anything bike-related.
