Bike in poor condition
I was so disappointed with the bike I got from The Pro's Closet. It was supposed to be in good shape, but man, when it showed up, it was obvious that it had taken a few spills and hadn't been taken care of properly. The chain was all wonky, the bottom bracket was making weird noises, and it was covered in scratches and dents. I should've just sent it back, but instead, I tried fixing it myself. Then I thought I'd sell it back through their "guaranteed buy back" deal, only to be offered way less than what they said I'd get. They even tried to say that a scratch was structural to knock more off the price, which was totally bogus. Overall, a super disappointing experience, eh.
2017 high-end road bike
I recently got my fancy road bike from TPC and it was a letdown. Right after I took it for a spin, I noticed a big problem with the back wheel that was making the bike shake and messing with the brakes. Even though they claimed they checked it thoroughly before sending it out, it was clear they missed something. When I got in touch with their customer service, they weren't much help and just told me to take it to a local shop. I was pretty disappointed by their lack of responsibility, especially since I paid a lot for the bike. On top of that, the chain was grubby when it arrived, making the whole thing even more frustrating. I ended up sending the bike back, but not before giving it a good clean myself. Overall, my experience with TPC was below average and I'd suggest thinking twice before buying from them.
Expensive shoe purchase
Hey there, so I bought a pair of shoes online and was totally surprised to get hit with sneaky import charges out of nowhere. I talked to this guy named Mathew in customer service, but he wasn't much help. He basically said the import fees were my own problem. The website made it seem like the only shipping charges I'd have to worry about were posted, but they conveniently left out any info about import charges. So, in the end, the shoes cost way more than I thought they would. It just feels kind of sketchy to not be straight up about that from the beginning. I'm definitely gonna tell everyone about this bad experience so they know to stay far away from this company.
Used bike components
My shopping experience at The Pro's Closet was amazing, eh? They had a great selection of top-notch used bike parts on their website. The descriptions were bang on and the prices were fair for what you were getting. The customer service team knew their stuff and helped me out with all my questions about fit and sizing. All in all, I had a fantastic time shopping there and will definitely be going back for more, eh?
Specialized Tarmac SL6 Pro Road bike
I bought a road bike from The Pro's Closet last summer, and it's been a total bummer. When I took it in for a tune-up this summer, turns out the Front Derailleur was wrecked, with the screws and threads stripped. Must've happened before I got it 'cause it was the first tune-up since April. Having to replace it cost a ton and it's been a huge hassle. Also, the handlebars were put on all wrong, messing up the cables and hood, causing flat tires left and right. If The Pro's Closet had checked it before selling me the bike, all this could've been avoided. I've shelled out $700-800 fixing this mess, with zero support from them. Their customer service and quality control let me down big time.
Mountain bike components
I just bought some mountain bike parts from this store and honestly, I was pretty let down by the whole experience. The customer service wasn't great, and it felt like they were just focused on selling stuff instead of really looking after what I wanted as a customer.
Used bike without warranty
I recently bought a second-hand bike from The Pro's Closet without a warranty, and ran into a problem with the carbon frame. I was bummed to find out that I needed the original owner's receipt for a warranty claim, which TPC didn't give me. This whole thing has made me think twice about getting used stuff from TPC again.
Brand New bike purchased
My experience buying a new bike from The Pro's Closet was a letdown. When the bike arrived, it had a lot of cosmetic and mechanical damage, making it impossible to ride right away. They just told me to take it to my local bike shop and handle the problems myself, which wasn't cool. If they had been upfront about all the paint chips, scratches, wonky front wheel, busted rear derailleur, and missing fender mounts, I wouldn't have bought it. Bottom line, it was a really bad experience.
11-year-old bicycle
I was thinking of buying a 11-year-old bike from The Pro's Closet, but the customer service was disappointing. When I asked about making an offer, they flat out said prices are non-negotiable. The guy, Matthew, was grumpy, impolite, and acted all superior, which really rubbed me the wrong way.
5 bikes
I can't stress enough how crucial it is to have a good variety of bikes to choose from when you're looking for the right one. The Pro's Closet totally gets this and does a great job of keeping their stock fresh. It's pretty impressive that they can ship bike parts with no big issues, considering all the different components involved. While it's tough for every mechanic to catch every little detail, it's how they handle problems that really sets them apart. I've bought a total of 5 bikes from The Pro's Closet and had issues with 2 of them. The first one had messed up dropouts, which made the rear wheel shift during hard pedaling. They missed this issue in their quality check, but were cool about taking the bike back and giving me a full refund plus a 10% discount on my next purchase. The second bike was a gravel bike that didn't fit right and had toe overlap problems. Once again, they took it back no problem and even covered the return shipping. The team at The Pro's Closet has been super easy to reach and work with, offering awesome customer service. Plus, their prices are unbeatable - you can get awesome bikes at half the price of new ones. I'm really happy with my experience and will definitely go back to The Pro's Closet for any future bike buys.
Bought a bike
They totally tried to lowball me with a terrible offer, like worse than lowball. I wouldn't even think about buying from them, even if there were no other choices left.
Bike wheel purchase
My bike wheels purchase from The Pro's Closet turned out to be a disaster. When the rims showed up, they were covered in sticky glue remnants, clearly showing that they didn't bother checking and cleaning them properly before selling. When I got in touch with customer service for some help, they were useless and insisted that the rims were messed up when they got to me, which is just not true. And on top of all that, I had to pay return fees that were never mentioned beforehand, leaving me feeling pretty angry and like they were taking advantage of me as a customer. The return label costs were way too high and didn't even guarantee that the rims would be safe from damage during shipping. All in all, I was really let down by the poor quality control and customer service at The Pro's Closet.
Rear Shock Purchase
I just bought a rear shock from this online store, but I was let down by the quality control. The product arrived quickly and looked fine, but when I tried to install it, I could tell right away that the lockout feature wasn't working properly. It was clear that the shock was not functioning as it should. This lack of quality control makes me worried about buying used items from this store. The only good thing was the fast and efficient service I got when I returned the product. However, I was still not happy with how everything turned out in the end.
Used Road E-Bike Purchase
I recently picked up a used road e-bike from The Pro's Closet and I gotta say, I'm super stoked about how things turned out. The e-bike came in top-notch condition, even better than I was expecting for the price I scored it at. The bike quality totally blew me away and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. And when I lost the battery key, the customer service crew at TPC were right on it with a quick replacement. Their fast and efficient help made the whole process super easy and stress-free. I really appreciate their awesome service and careful attention to customer needs. All in all, I'm beyond satisfied with my bike and grateful for The Pro's Closet for hooking me up with this awesome deal online.
Bike sale rejection
I was totally let down by my experience at The Pro's Closet. I was so pumped to sell my fancy gravel bike with a sweet custom paint job, but it ended up being a total disaster. They turned down my $12,000 bike because they said they couldn't check it out properly, and just said they weren't interested. Like, seriously? How can they call themselves pros when they can't even do a basic inspection? I'd have better luck selling on eBay than dealing with these inexperienced folks.
Used bike
I can't believe the audacity of this place. I bought a used bike from them and it turned out to be a total disaster. They did ship it quickly, so I'll give them that. But when I reached out to them a few days after getting the bike to share my concerns, they were completely unhelpful. They didn't seem to care at all that the bike had problems, all they wanted to do was get rid of it. And on top of that, when I tried to sell it back to them, they offered me a fraction of what I paid. It's just absurd! Plus, the frame ended up cracking after only a few rides. Who knows what would've happened if I had taken it on more challenging trails. The fact that this company lacks accountability is truly shocking. They sell faulty bikes and couldn't care less about their customers' safety. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this place.
Saddle purchase
I recently bought a saddle from this store, hoping to try out a new brand. But man, was I let down. I'm up here in Canada, and TPC ships with FedEx. So when my package showed up, I was floored to see FedEx had tacked on a huge surcharge for being a customs broker without asking me first. Like, come on. I knew I'd have to pay duties and taxes, but this extra fee totally blindsided me. When I got in touch with FedEx, turns out TPC had gone ahead and agreed to cover those fees for me, without even checking with me first. So now I'm stuck in a bind. And when I tried to get some help from TPC, they basically said tough luck, I agreed to those charges by using Shop Pay, even though they never clearly spelled that out when I was checking out. This whole lack of transparency and support from TPC has left me feeling super frustrated and bummed out.
Expensive bike purchase
So, you know, I bought this super expensive bike from this place and when it arrived, the shocks were all leaky and messed up. Can you believe that? I had to get them fixed and they wouldn't cover the cost. And on top of that, their whole certified pre-owned deal is a total joke. They didn't even bother to check the bike properly before selling it to me. Not cool, eh?
Bike purchase, disappointment
So, I found this bike at this place and I was all hyped about it, you know? But then when I took it out for a ride, BOOM! So many issues. The back wheel was all messed up with cracks and things. My buddy pointed it out, and I had to bring it in for a check-up. Even though The Pro's Closet didn't find anything wrong, I'm pretty sure I saw something! And then, the back shock didn't have any air in it! Like seriously, I'm not even that heavy! I was so let down, dude.
Sold broken ebike
Selling my top-notch ebike to TPC almost turned into a complete disaster, eh? My bike ended up all banged up during shipping because the local bike shop didn't pack it properly, you know. The frame was all messed up and the offer from TPC got cancelled. Luckily, the TPC person I talked to offered to buy the parts that were still good. We negotiated on the price a little bit, but in the end, we reached a deal that was fair to me, you know. Now I have to deal with the bike shop, but at least TPC came through for me when I needed them, eh.
