Best website builder
Squarespace is absolutely amazing for any solo entrepreneur like me! I started my own business and knew I needed a killer website to look professional. Thank goodness for Squarespace, because it made me look like an expert in no time. The drag-and-drop feature is so easy to use, even a kid could do it. Plus, there are tons of awesome templates to choose from, so my site looks really great.
But wait, there's more! Squarespace isn't just for creating beautiful websites. You can also sell products! I set up a little online store on my site and now I'm making money without needing any complicated plugins. Plus, they have all these amazing marketing tools to help me reach more people. It's like having a whole team of techies supporting me.
I won't lie, being a solo entrepreneur is challenging at times. But Squarespace is my go-to platform. It's so user-friendly that I can focus on my business instead of worrying about my website. And the customer service is exceptional. They're like my best friends in the digital world.
If you're a creative individual, a freelancer, or just trying to make it on your own, Squarespace is a necessity. The price is definitely worth it for all the amazing features you receive. It's honestly one of the best investments I've made for my business.Website building platform
As a veteran website developer, I've created a ton of websites using this platform and I gotta say it's one of the best out there. Even though I've seen some bad stuff said about it online, I've never had any big issues using it. Actually, none of my clients who have websites I built have ever reached out to me with complaints or technical problems. Makes me think some of those bad reviews might not be legit, or folks are trying to mess with the platform on purpose. From what I've seen, Square Space has an easy-to-use interface, lots of ways to customize, and awesome customer support, which is why it's my top choice for website development.
Made my second website
So, I gotta say, their customer service is just awesome! They always respond to emails super fast, like within hours and sometimes even minutes. They're so helpful and friendly. I've been using their products since 2018 and just built another website with them. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out!
Editing templates
I was super pumped to work on my templates for like an hour and a half, and then when I was ready to hit "publish," I couldn't find the button anywhere. Instead, all I saw was a subscribe button. So I figured out that I needed to subscribe to an 11€ subscription to publish. I was about to click it until I realized it was 11€ per month if you pay for a full year upfront. Otherwise, it's 18€ per month. I almost got tricked after putting in all that work, but luckily I checked the comments first. Phew, dodged a bullet there! DON'T DO IT!!!!
Website cancellation struggle
I gotta say, my experience with the website I made in 2020 was pretty good, but canceling it was a bit of a pain. Especially when I tried to stop the auto-renewal for the domain name - that was a whole other story. The website wouldn't let me log in, and the page just kept freezing on me. After a bunch of back and forth, I managed to fill out an online form, but they wanted so much info it was ridiculous. I had to dig up all sorts of documents like government IDs, bank statements, and details from when I first set up the account - which, let's be real, was a long time ago. Even after I finally sent in the form, the whole process was just frustrating and took up way too much of my time. And reading other people's reviews online didn't exactly ease my doubts that my problem would be fixed before they took more money from me. I ended up having to call my bank to stop any future payments, just so I wouldn't have to deal with more headaches. Honestly, it seemed like they were trying everything in their power to make canceling a nightmare, leaving me feeling stressed out and inconvenienced for no good reason.
Auto-renewal process
I had such a tough time dealing with Squarespace and their auto-renewal thing. It's such a pain trying to figure out how to cancel it, having to dig through all that fine print on different pages. And the fact that Google gave them my domains just made it all worse. Honestly, I wouldn't suggest using their services just because of this whole mess.
Domain purchase
Eh, so I got some domains from this place, and let me tell ya, their customer service was a total nightmare, eh! I asked them nicely to stop sending me emails about my domains, and they just kept sending them, saying I had no choice, eh. And some of the emails were really rude and not cool at all, eh. And don't even get me started on how long it took them to reply with useless links to their website instead of actually helping me out, eh. I wish I never bought these domains from them, and it seems like other folks feel the same way, eh.
My experience with Squarespace
As a web developer who mostly works with WordPress, sometimes I have clients who need help with their Squarespace websites. Personally, I think Squarespace isn't the greatest CMS out there - it lacks a lot of important features. It can be really frustrating just trying to add a simple hyperlink because the platform is so limited. The interface is clunky and not very user-friendly, making even basic tasks a real pain to deal with. Overall, I find Squarespace to be a headache that could definitely be improved in terms of being easier to use and more efficient.
Email support inconvenience
The lack of phone customer service is beyond frustrating, eh? It's just crazy to think that a company wouldn't have phone support these days. Having to stick to email communication isn't great, especially if you've got important things that need sorting out ASAP. Waiting a whole day for a response? No way, that's just not okay, eh?
Website building experience
Building a website on this platform has been a total nightmare, eh? It's so frustrating how limited the customization options are, especially when it comes to sizing and password protection. Trying to keep the site looking professional on different devices is nearly impossible because of the design inconsistencies. And the lack of color, font, and size choices makes it really tough to make a website that stands out. Overall, I've been pretty disappointed with the whole experience and I wouldn't suggest using this platform for business reasons, eh?
Account security breach
My experience with this company has been an absolute nightmare, I tell ya. I couldn't believe it when I found out that my account was hacked and my personal info was swiped by their own staff! I tried reaching out for help multiple times but got no response at all. It's been super stressful and frustrating, let me tell you, I even had to get the cops involved to clean up this mess. I highly recommend steering clear of this company, their lack of security and customer support is just way too worrisome.
Limited features, money hungry
I was stoked to try out their services at first, but man, was I disappointed with how little they had to offer. It seemed like all they cared about was their bottom line, not giving customers a top-notch experience. So I gave up on them and switched to another platform, and let me tell ya, it was the smartest move I ever made for my business.
False advertising and domain hijacking
I tried this brand because Google recommended it, but my experience was awful. They advertised domain names for $12 a year, but when I logged in, it was actually $20 a year. On top of that, they won't release my domain even though I've asked them several times. Every time I reach out for a refund or to transfer my domain, I just get unhelpful responses with no solution.
Google site connection issues
I bought a domain on this platform, thinking it would be simple to link it to my Google site I already have. But no, I had so many technical issues and errors that just made it super frustrating and took up so much time. The website layout was not user-friendly at all, which I think is totally not cool for a company that's supposed to help with websites. I'm so fed up with this whole thing, I wouldn't suggest it to anyone.
