Subscription renewal issue
Don't bother dealing with this company, eh. I stopped using their service back in 2017, but they keep trying to charge me in 2018. Dealing with their customer service is a total nightmare - they're always threatening you with payments and making it super difficult to cancel. Total waste of time and money, if you ask me.
SPOT TRACE unit purchase
I just got this tracking device from a store nearby but I'm having a lot of trouble trying to activate it. I've been following the Quick Start Guide but I can't seem to connect to the activation link no matter what I do. It's really bugging me because I've been trying multiple times every day and can't get it to work. I read some bad reviews online too, so now I'm thinking about returning it because of all these problems.
Recent Disappearance of Billing
Ya know, I just realized that the company stopped charging me in February without even giving me a heads up. It got me worried, so I tried reaching out to their customer service team twice. But man, both times I was left hanging on the line for like five and then eight minutes with no one saying a word. And get this - after holding for ages, I finally got a robotic voice asking me to do a survey. Like, seriously? So I tried hitting them up on chat, but nada, nobody replied. It's pretty shocking how a company can mess up this bad with customer service.
Monthly plan scam
Dang, I wish I could rate them lower than one star. I thought I was getting a monthly plan but turns out it was a sneaky yearly contract. I paid for the device upfront and still got stuck in a service contract with no service at all. Total scam, I'm warning everyone to steer clear of this company.
Subscription services
Watch out for SPOT, they're pulling some sketchy moves with their billing. They have this sneaky "Evergreen Clause" that makes it tough to cancel subscriptions. Definitely think twice before dealing with them.
Waterproof GPS Trackers
So, eh, I bought some waterproof GPS trackers from this one place and let me tell ya, what a waste of money. The package said they were waterproof, but c'mon, after a bit of rain they conked out on me. I had to keep replacing them cuz they kept getting wrecked by water. If they can't handle a bit of moisture, how are they gonna survive in the marine environments they're supposed to be good for, eh? Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these trackers, okay?
GPS tracker purchase
I recently bought a GPS tracker from this company, and let me tell you, it wasn't a great experience. Their pricing policies are just ridiculous, with automatic renewals and price hikes without warning. The lack of online communication and reliance on email just adds to the frustration, especially for customers from other countries who might not be familiar with all the regulations. When I found out my credit card had been charged without me knowing, I had to get in touch with customer service for a refund, which did eventually happen, but it was a hassle. And let's talk about the actual service - it's been spotty at best. There have been times when the GPS tracker couldn't even send an SMS signal, especially in more remote areas like forests where it's crucial. I've been lucky enough to not need the emergency SOS service, but if I did, I'd have serious doubts about its reliability.
Spot X unit purchase
As a happy customer of SPOT, I've been using the Spot X unit for two years now and I have to say that I am really happy with my purchase. Despite some negative reviews I've seen, I haven't had any issues with their customer service, payment processing, texting features, tracking abilities, custom message settings, and more. This unit has really exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, though I will admit there was a bit of a learning curve. But, by taking the time to read the manual and watch some instructional videos online, I was able to learn how to use the device to its fullest potential. Overall, I'm very happy with the Spot X unit.
Subscription cancellation difficulty
Oh, this company is just brutal. When I wanted to cancel my subscription, there was no way to do it online, ugh. I had to actually call them up, and even then it was a pain. Ended up having to cancel my credit card just to make sure I got out of that subscription. Beyond awful customer service and shady business stuff. Do yourself a favor and check out Garmin inreach instead for a much nicer experience and better hardware.
Automatic renewal service for over 6 years
I just found out that my Spot tracker service has been renewing itself every year for the past 6 years without me even knowing. Back in 2014, I tried to cancel the service after using it for one specific need, but I never got any mail saying that it would keep renewing. And now, trying to cancel it seems like such a hassle, which is really frustrating and disappointing.
GPS device purchase
This company is a total joke. I got their GPS thingamajig and surprise, surprise, it hardly ever works. We gave it a whirl a few times and it let us down every time. And don't get me started on their customer service - what a disaster! After I quit the subscription, they still had the nerve to charge my credit card not once, but twice, without even giving me a heads up. Didn't even bother sending a receipt or any sort of heads up. And when I got in touch with customer service, they took forever to get back to me, straight up lied, and tried to make me feel like I was in the wrong. It wasn't until I threatened to report them for fraud that they finally gave me my dough back. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this company. There are way better options out there in the market.
Satellite phone purchase
I recently bought a satellite phone for safety during my backpacking trips, but man, oh man, the customer service from the company was a major letdown. I tried following the instructions to send messages, but they just weren't going through, putting my safety on the line. When I rang them up to cancel my membership because of the faulty product, the rep didn't take me seriously and kinda hinted that it was my own fault for not knowing how to use the phone properly. It took me ages to finally cancel, during which time they kept charging me with no fix in sight. I was floored to see other customers with similar complaints, really makes you doubt the reliability of their products, eh.
GPS tracking system
I recently bought a GPS tracking system from this company and honestly, it's been a total letdown. No matter how many times I tried, the device just couldn't lock onto the satellites and the test sequence failed every single time. The instructions they gave, whether in print or online, were confusing and incomplete, which made setting up the system a real challenge. As someone who really depends on GPS for important stuff like navigating through the wilderness, I was really disappointed by how poorly this product performed. I've used other GPS systems before like MIL DAGR, and I was expecting way better results from this company. All in all, based on my experience, I definitely wouldn't recommend this GPS tracking system.
Subscription nightmare
Just picture being stuck in this crazy loop of customer service from some far-off place, where trying to cancel your subscription feels like trying to spot a unicorn. I've never seen such a lack of ability and unwillingness to help. It's like dealing with a nagging wound that just won't go away. I suggest staying clear, folks.
Unauthorized credit card charge
I just had a sketchy credit card charge from these people, and honestly, it really got to me. How could they just swipe my card without asking me first? That's a major breach of trust and totally not cool. I believe in keeping things upfront and real, and this shady move has definitely changed my opinion on this company.
Difficulty with cancellation process
These clowns made cancelling my account a total nightmare, eh. I wasted so much time trying to figure out how to do it online, only to realize it was impossible. I even tried emailing their deactivation address, but that was a bust as well. No response to my first email, and the second one bounced back with some crazy excuse about access being denied. It feels like they're deliberately avoiding dealing with disgruntled customers. I ended up having to cancel my credit card just to stop them from emptying my wallet, eh. Definitely steer clear of these scammers, bud.
GPS Tracker for Down Syndrome son
The SPOT Gen3 and Tracker did an okay job of keeping track of my son on our huge ranch in Alaska, but the app wasn't that great. Even though satellite coverage is spotty in our area, it usually did the job. However, the customer service was terrible - they wouldn't respond to texts or emails, had sketchy billing, and made it hard to cancel subscriptions. Now I'm searching for a different GPS tracker because of all the headaches with SPOT.
Spot device thoughts
I decided to get a Spot tracker to keep myself safe and so my mom can always know where I am. The concept is neat, but I've come to find out that there are actually better options available, like InReach. InReach offers much more superior messaging, pricing, and customer service. On top of that, there are no tricky auto renewals and it's a lot easier to navigate. I would highly recommend looking into InReach instead!
Overpriced subscription scam
This company is such a scam, eh? They hook you in with what seems like a fair subscription price, then bam! Out of nowhere comes a huge increase without even asking your permission. And don't even get me started on trying to cancel - it's like trying to find your way through a crazy maze! You end up having to call some number in another country and wait forever just to talk to a real person. And to top it all off, they even tried to bribe me with a discount to keep me on board. I don't trust them one bit and I'm going to be super careful with my financial info. Keep your distance from this sketchy outfit, eh!
