Subscription mishap
I had a really frustrating experience with my subscription to their service. I only wanted to sign up for a month but got charged for a whole year instead. I contacted customer service right away when I saw the mistake, but they wouldn't give me back the money for the 11 months I didn't agree to pay. I think it's totally unfair and completely ridiculous. It's not right to make customers pay for something they didn't even want or say yes to.
Subscription
I had a really bad experience with this company. Their customer service was terrible and I couldn't figure out how to cancel my subscription. They didn't even remind me about my upcoming charges, and when I told them I lost my job because of COVID and couldn't afford their service anymore, they didn't show any empathy. Trying to dispute the charge was a total nightmare and it felt like they were trying to scam me.
Annual subscription auto-renewal
The stuff they were talking about seemed cool at first, but I got bored pretty fast and stopped reading. What really bugged me was how they sneakily renewed my subscription without asking me, and then wouldn't give me my money back when I tried to cancel. No matter what their rules are, treating customers like that is not okay and makes them look bad. I'm fighting the charge now and won't be going back there again.
Online subscription
The Information has some really interesting articles and analysis on what's happening in business and technology right now. But man, their customer service totally sucked in my experience. They were super slow in getting back to me with answers, and they were all shady about how they handle payments, which is a big complaint in other reviews too. Even though their content is good, the crappy customer service really turned me off.
My order was a total rip-off
Oh my gosh, definitely steer clear of this place! Trying to cancel your subscription is such a hassle, and forget about getting a refund. It's like they're just trying to take your money. Ugh, hands down the worst shopping experience I've ever had!
Excessive Email Communications
I get way too many emails from this company. They're constantly filling up my inbox, sometimes even sending me four in a single day. It's honestly just too much and really starting to bug me. And to make matters worse, trying to unsubscribe is a whole ordeal. It shouldn't be this difficult to stop getting emails from them.
Annual subscription
The yearly subscription on the Information website is a total rip-off. They sneakily enroll you in a year-long service without letting you cancel the automatic renewal. You don't even get an email heads-up about the upcoming renewal, so you're hit with a $400 charge out of the blue. And when you try to get a refund right away, they turn you down, hiding behind their "policy" as an excuse. If you're caught up in this mess, my advice is to complain to your credit card company or report your card to the consumer financial protection bureau for a speedier fix.
Subsription shenanigans
I gotta tell ya, I signed up for this service and it was a complete disaster! They just kept on charging me even after I tried to cancel. Can you believe it? I mean, is it really that difficult to stop taking my hard-earned cash?! And on top of that, I didn't even get a receipt for my payment. What kind of sketchy business operation is that? I'm telling you, they could probably write a whole expose on their own lousy practices. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of them, take my word for it!
Deceptive pricing
This company really tricks people with their sneaky pricing tricks. I thought I was snagging a good deal at $399, but then I saw after downloading their app that the actual price was $299. When I asked for a refund of the $100 difference, they said no and I was not impressed. On top of that, their cancellation link was hard to find, buried deep in several pages at the bottom of the page. It was a headache trying to opt out of their services. All in all, dealing with this company was a letdown and I would advise others to watch out for their pricing tricks.
Online subscription purchase
I just signed up for this online service and got hit with a $400 charge on my credit card. I thought it was a monthly fee, but turns out it was a one-time payment. I feel so misled and ripped off. Next time, I'll check reviews before jumping in. Stay on your toes and do your homework before committing to this service.
Tech Journalism Subscription
The content from this tech journalism subscription is top-notch. It's exclusive and better than other tech news sites. But, the cost is a bit high, especially for the average person. Unless you're really into tech or investing in it, it might not be worth it. I got a discount when I signed up, which helped a bit, but still, the price can be a lot for most folks.
I had an issue when they switched to a pro and non-pro subscription model. The pro one had more stuff like org charts and databases but cost a lot more. I thought I'd get everything for the discounted rate, but they cut me off from the pro stuff. It was disappointing and not cool.
If you're thinking about signing up, use a pre-paid or virtual credit card. And remember to cancel before the renewal date to avoid any surprises. Just looking out for you!Auto renewal denied
I had a really frustrating experience with this company recently. They charged me $499 for a renewal without me wanting it. When I got in touch with customer service to cancel and get my money back on the same day, I couldn't believe it when they said they wouldn't do it. It seems like they don't care at all about what the customer wants, just want to make money. I'm really disappointed and I'll definitely warn others to watch out for their shady ways.
One-time report purchase
I would stay clear of this company! I thought I was only buying a one-time report and PDF, but turns out they were charging me $29.99 every month. When I tried to cancel my subscription, customer support just gave me the runaround and tried to keep me as a customer by offering discounts. They didn't even offer to refund the extra charges. This whole situation has made me feel ripped off and frustrated. I won't be using their service again.
Insightful yet lacking startup metrics
The Information gives some really good insights into the tech industry, especially when it comes to the big players like the Magnificent 7 companies. But I find myself wanting more news about startups in the Series C range. The organization charts they have are usually out of date and could use some fresher info. Still, I really liked how they dive deep into different tech topics.
Subscription renewal issue
I gotta say, the subscription I signed up for was kinda disappointing. It didn't really offer much more than what you can find in regular news outlets. Plus, they renewed my subscription without telling me, and when I tried to cancel it, they wouldn't let me. It's just not cool how they're not being upfront and refusing to fix things. The content wasn't even worth the high price I paid for the subscription. It's just not right.
Unexpected $400 charge
This company can really surprise you with a sneaky $400 charge that renews automatically, and they don't even warn you beforehand. It's unbelievable that they have a strict "no refunds" policy in this day and age where customer happiness should come first. Plus, the content they provide is pretty shallow and doesn't give any useful information. You'd be better off checking out Hacker News or TechCrunch for your tech news - they're more trustworthy sources.
Annual subscription, auto-renewal, no refunds
I am super upset about my experience with this company. They are really sneaky and shady - charging me for a yearly subscription without asking, renewing my subscription without telling me, and not giving me a refund even though I asked right after the renewal. Their lack of honesty and bad customer service is just horrible. It's clear they're trying to take advantage of people who don't know any better and basically steal their money. As someone who cares about being a smart shopper, I have to tell others to watch out for this company and be careful if you're thinking about dealing with them.
