Zipper failure on safari pants
I bought these pants with leg zippers for my Tanzania safari, but darn it, the left leg zipper kept failing after just a few wears. I had to constantly mess with it to get it to work. Those plastic zippers were such a letdown compared to the metal ones used by other brands. And to top it off, these pants were not cheap and there were no replacement options available during my safari.
Tough pants
Man, those pants I want are never in stock! I've been trying to get them for ages and they're always sold out. It's so frustrating! I just want some cool pants to wear but nope, it's always a no-go. Come on, Orvis, why you gotta play me like that? Stock up on those pants already!
Fishing gear purchase
I just bought some new fishing gear at this store and I have to say, I was really impressed with how good the quality and durability of the products are. The staff there were super helpful and really knew their stuff, helping me pick out exactly what I needed. You can tell the store really cares about making their customers happy with the great product selection and top-notch service.
Fly fishing gear purchase
Honestly, I gotta say, I was pretty bummed out by the fly fishing gear I got from this place. It was way too expensive and the quality just wasn't up to par with other brands out there. It felt like I was stuck in a time warp with their outdated stuff. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone in need of top-notch fishing gear.
Field Coat care instructions
I recently contacted customer service to get some tips on how to take care of my field coat. I wanted to make it more water-resistant because it wasn't as good as it used to be. But the response I got was kind of a letdown. The person on the other end just said they don't do re-waxing for the coat and suggested going to a dry cleaner for help, even though the coat can't be dry cleaned. I was pretty annoyed at the lack of help and solution they offered, especially since this brand is known for its outdoor gear.
Outdoor gear
I recently bought some outdoor gear from this store and I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. The website had some items listed but there were so many products that weren't available online. It was hard for me to find exactly what I wanted. It's annoying having to go to the store to see what they have when it should all be online. The lack of inventory on the website made me hesitant to buy anything, 'cause I wasn't sure if they had what I needed. They definitely need to update their online inventory to match what they have in-store.
Online shopping
Sorry eh, I was just tryna buy some stuff online, ya know? Then I saw this review saying Orvis is all about some globalist agenda or something. I dunno what that even means, but I just wanted to get some cool stuff, eh. Why can't companies just make good products without all this drama, ya know? It's like, take a chill pill, Orvis.
Cool squeaky toys
I found some really cool animal squeaky toys for my little dogs and even my big Australian Shepherds can't wreck them! They're super strong and have been holding up for 10 days now with no damage at all. My dogs are obsessed with them and they've become their new top toys. I will definitely be getting more of these in the future!
Double Knit Sweater Coat
I got this sweater coat that was supposed to be made of like, Merino and all these awesome materials, but when I got it, it ended up being like, mostly nylon and some wool and viscose. I was so disappointed because I thought it was gonna be all natural and cozy. I even spent time sewing snaps on it before I noticed the tag inside with the real fabric content. Now I don't trust this store anymore, they totally lied about the materials in this coat.
Recent clothing purchases
Recently, I've bought quite a few clothing pieces from your store. I've been a loyal customer for a while, but I gotta say, I'm not happy with the service lately. I used to love the top-notch quality of everything I got from you guys, but now, I'm feeling let down and kinda bummed out.
Outdoor gear and apparel
As someone who loves the great outdoors, I decided to check out this store for some new gear and clothing in the hopes of scoring some top-notch stuff to last me on my adventures. Unfortunately, I was pretty let down. The selection was meagre, and the items I did manage to find were pricey for what they were. It seemed like most of the products were churned out in bulk and lacked the toughness I needed. On top of that, the sizes were all off, with most things fitting smaller than expected. And when I tried to return a couple of items, I was surprised to learn that I had to fork out for the shipping costs. It was just another disappointment on top of feeling like I'd already forked over too much for mediocre items. All in all, my experience with this store was a bust, and I won't be coming back.
Direct marketing list issues
As someone who's been in the industry for a while now, I've been dealing with issues around direct marketing lists at this company for over four years. Despite trying many times to get off their mailing list, I still keep getting their promo emails. I even reached out to them and was told my email would be removed, but I still get emails thanking me for orders I never made. It's really frustrating and unprofessional to see this kind of disregard for customer requests.
Waders and Hydros Cold Water Intermediate
I've been a faithful customer of this company for years, but lately I've been really let down by their products. I bought some waders that started leaking after just a short while, and then the loop on my Hydros Cold Water Intermediate line came apart on only my second time using it. It's just not right, especially given how much I spent on them.
Issue with a product
I gotta say, when I reached out to customer service about a problem with a product, I was really impressed with the help I got. The person I talked to was super friendly and knew their stuff. It's nice to know a company cares about making their customers happy and gives top-notch service.
Bought a fishing rod
I bought a fishing rod last year and the tip broke like crazy fast, like within 10 minutes. They claim the new one is tougher, but I'm not totally convinced. The previous one was garbage and I had to get a replacement before I even caught a fish. Next time, I think I'll switch it up and go with a different brand, maybe Sage.
Recent disappointing visit
I was at the flagship store in Manchester, VT not too long ago, and I gotta say, I was really let down. The quality and selection just wasn't up to par with my past visits. It's like the store has lost its spark, you know? There wasn't much variety in clothing, home goods, or outdoor gear. It was kind of sad to see a brand I love so much falling behind like that.
5 shirts returned
What a total nightmare that was trying to deal with their customer service, eh! I got 5 shirts that were totally not up to snuff, so I decided to send 'em back. I used the return label and tracking number they gave me, only to find out later that they said they never got the shirts and couldn't even track the return. That lack of responsibility and customer service is just not on, eh. So now I'm tryin' to sort it all out by disputin' the charge with my credit card company.
Small belt, return charges
I just bought a belt from this store, but I was kind of disappointed because the size turned out to be smaller than expected, even though I already own a few 40" belts. So, I decided to trade it for a 42" size, which fit much better. But then, when I got my refund, I was so surprised to see that they had taken out the original shipping cost and added return shipping fees. That ended up being a big $20 less than what I was expecting, which honestly seemed a bit much to me. I mean, other stores give free shipping and easy returns, so now I'm not sure if I want to keep shopping here in the future.
Exchange of gloves for a different size
I got a pair of gloves from Orvis as a gift, but they were the wrong size. I tried to exchange them on their website using the return number they gave me, but it kept saying there was no match. I emailed customer service a bunch of times over a few weeks, but got no reply. Finally, after sending my emails from a different address, they said they didn't see my emails until one magically came through from an AOL address. They finally gave me a return label via email. But when I tried to return a shirt that didn't fit, I had the same problem with the return portal not recognizing my order number. After contacting customer service once more, they said the portal was down for maintenance. It's frustrating that they didn't tell customers about this on the website, causing confusion and annoyance for people trying to do returns after the holiday rush. The lack of transparency and communication from Orvis about the issues with their return portal shows a lack of care for their customers, which is worrying.
