don’t count on the delivery
don’t count on the delivery
Deliverydon’t count on the delivery — that’s the takeaway. I ordered a pair of winter boots I actually needed for walking the dog and commuting, and what should have been a pretty normal thing turned into a small saga. At first I was relieved because Macy’s customer rep sounded good on the phone — said UPS had intercepted the package and it would arrive by tomorrow, even took my number to call me the next day to confirm. That was oddly reassuring, like, wow, somebody’s on it. Then an hour later I get a tracking update saying the package is heading back to their Goodyear, Arizona centre. I called UPS, got the usual runaround, then went back to Macy’s. The woman I talked to read the notes, confirmed the delivery promise, then said suddenly she couldn’t reroute it and couldn’t reach UPS. I asked for a supervisor — and the same person came back on pretending to be one. That’s when I knew it was lost; I asked for a refund and didn’t hold back, I told them exactly how annoying it was. It’s frustrating because the boots were for daily use — morning dog walks, shovelling, the usual — and now I’m stuck with running around to find a backup pair. A small bright spot: that first agent who actually took my number was polite, seemed real, and for a minute I believed it would be fine. But that relief evaporated quick. So yeah, product wasn’t the issue, and the price was reasonable, but the delivery and how they handled (or didn’t handle) communication left a bad taste. If you need something in a pinch, maybe buy local or double-check the carrier they’re using.
Dishes arrived broken
Dishes arrived broken
DeliveryI just got dishes as a gift from an online order, but the package arrived in bad shape. The box holding the dishes was falling apart, and some dishes were broken. I'm disappointed in how they were packed. Even though customer service offered to send a replacement set, I doubt it will be packed any better. It's annoying to have to send back the damaged set due to poor packaging.
Post-purchase frustration
Post-purchase frustration
DeliveryI recently bought something online and let me tell you, it was a total disaster. The thing got sent from a different province and they didn't have my full address, so the delivery guy had a hard time finding me. I called customer service twice and they were no help at all. When I asked to talk to a manager, they actually hung up on me. I was so fed up that I just told the delivery guy to send it back. I'm definitely not ordering from that store online again.
Online shopping experience
Online shopping experience
DeliveryMy recent online shopping experience with Macy's was pretty disappointing. I ordered a few things, but the package ended up being shipped from way far away instead of close to home. To top it off, they forgot to include my full address on the package, only my P.O. Box and missing my street address. This mistake made the shipping company not want to deliver the package, which led to a frustrating back-and-forth between Macy's customer service and the shipping company. I talked to three different customer service reps, but none of them could fix the address issue properly. Also, the language barrier made it hard to communicate, making things even more frustrating. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was put on hold forever and then suddenly disconnected. In the end, I had to tell the shipping company to send the package back, leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth about my Macy's online shopping experience.
