Booked hotel, didn't need it
Booked hotel, didn't need it
CancellationI had a hotel booked 'cause my flight had a layover at LAX. My plans got messed up 'cause of the virus and I didn't end up needing the hotel. I tried talking to Hotwire about it, but no luck - they wouldn't help me out even when I showed them my flight details. Definitely not gonna use them again. Feeling disappointed. #Bummedout
About Hotwire
Hotwire is a travel website that operates as a subsidiary of Expedia Group. It was founded in 2000 by Karl Peterson, Eric Grosse, Gregg Brockway, and Spencer Rascoff. The company specializes in offering discounted rates for travel-related services, including hotel stays, car rentals, and airline tickets, through a model known as "opaque" inventory. This means that the specific details of the product (like the name of the hotel or airline) are not revealed until after the purchase has been completed, allowing service providers to sell unsold inventory at lower prices without publicly cutting their standard rates. Over the years, Hotwire has gained popularity among budget-conscious travelers looking for deals while maintaining some flexibility in their travel plans.
