Overpriced motel stay
Overpriced motel stay
AccommodationThe customer service at Hotwire was brutal. They didn't even bat an eye when we told them about the sketchy rating on the place we booked. The bathroom was straight up filthy, like a horror movie. We had no choice but to ditch that dump and fork out cash for a different hotel.

AccommodationI don't usually like to leave bad reviews, but I had such a terrible experience with my recent reservation through Hotwire that I feel like I have to let people know. I was promised a top-notch hotel with an "Excellent Rating," but what I actually got was a bunch of options for really low-quality places that were nothing like what was advertised. The final hotel I ended up at was an "ECONO LODGE MOTEL," and let me tell you, it did not meet my standards at all. It was not only below par, but it also made me feel unsafe because of the shady and unpleasant vibe. This whole thing has left me super unhappy, and I definitely won't be using Hotwire again in the future.

AccommodationThe room was a disaster - broken, dirty, and stinky. The sheets were gross and stained. When I asked for a refund at the front desk, they sent me to Hotwire. Hotwire took forever to get back to me, and when they did, they only offered me 25 Hotwire bucks. This hotel was a total nightmare - unsafe and filthy. I didn't even end up staying there.

Accommodation
The reviews I read about the extended stay accommodation were right on the money. They talked about roaches, dirty linens, old towels, slow service from housekeeping, sketchy characters hanging around, not-so-great long-term guests, and rooms that needed a lot of fixing up. I gotta say, those reviews were spot on. This place might not be the absolute worst, but it sure ain't comfortable.
Dealing with roaches and dirty linens made my stay a total nightmare. I had to go out and buy my own stuff just to feel halfway decent. The front desk folks were friendly enough, but they weren't the most professional. The property had some good things, like a pool and a nice picnic area with grills. Plus, it's in a good spot for getting to the airport or downtown. The rooms were roomy with a little kitchenette, but overall, my stay was a big letdown.
Places like Hotwire should really think twice about suggesting this spot to folks. It's not clean or comfy enough for guests. I personally wouldn't recommend staying at Metro PHX Apts unless you have absolutely no other choice.
About Hotwire
Hotwire is a travel website that operates as a subsidiary of Expedia Group. It was founded in 2000 by Karl Peterson, Eric Grosse, Gregg Brockway, and Spencer Rascoff. The company specializes in offering discounted rates for travel-related services, including hotel stays, car rentals, and airline tickets, through a model known as "opaque" inventory. This means that the specific details of the product (like the name of the hotel or airline) are not revealed until after the purchase has been completed, allowing service providers to sell unsold inventory at lower prices without publicly cutting their standard rates. Over the years, Hotwire has gained popularity among budget-conscious travelers looking for deals while maintaining some flexibility in their travel plans.
