Trip to Biarritz at a beach hotel
My partner got sick on our way to the airport, so we had to cancel our reservation at the beach hotel. We tried to reschedule, but the hotel wasn't helpful or understanding. We even emailed the general manager, but got no reply. We've been loyal Accor members for over 20 years, so we were really let down by the lack of customer service.
Stay at hotel
When we arrived at the hotel, the room was clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was really good both times. The staff was friendly. However, on the second day, we returned to the room and it hadn't been cleaned, the beds were not made, and there were no clean towels. The front desk informed us that there was a shortage of staff and we could have been notified about it through a note in the elevator. They did offer to provide clean towels. If we had been aware of this situation beforehand, we would have chosen a different hotel with full service. It would be helpful to inform guests about these issues ahead of time.
Recent stay at a loyalty program affiliated hotel
My stay at a hotel linked with a popular loyalty program was pretty good, but there were a couple things that stood out to me. The staff at the hotel didn't seem all that excited or friendly towards loyal guests. Even though check-in went smoothly, I think the front desk could have been more welcoming and helpful. Plus, the room they gave me seemed old and could definitely use some updating.
Booking flexibility and breakfast policy
My recent stay at this hotel was unfortunately not the best because of a frustrating issue with their breakfast policy. My flight schedule got changed, so I could have breakfast at the hotel every day, but I was upset to find out that the hotel was charging 48% more for breakfast even though I told them about my change five days before I got there. The hotel only gave a lower price for breakfast if everyone in the reservation agreed to have it every day. That didn't work for me because one person couldn't eat breakfast at the hotel due to dietary restrictions. As a valued member of the group, I expected better treatment and felt like I was being treated unfairly compared to other guests. This bad experience has made me think about booking with other hotels in the future to see if they have more flexibility and fair pricing. It's always good to check out different options and compare services to make sure customers are happy and getting good value for their money.
Booking inconvenience
It was so annoying that I couldn't pay in Canadian dollars beforehand. I ended up having to figure out my bank card stuff when I got there, which was a pain especially since it was late. Booking was easy, but this whole situation definitely bothered me.
Stayed at this really cool place
Omg, this place was amazing! The hotel was super clean and the people there were really nice. It was close to the train station and downtown, which was awesome. When I arrived early, they let me chill and gave me drinks until my room was good to go. And get this, they even left a chocolate bunny on my bed for Easter! So adorable, right?! Also, shoutout to Soraya for helping me book football tickets. She definitely deserves a raise!
