Almost tore my hair out

I swear I was ready to toss my laptop - it kept freezing every time I prepped a single document. Reinstalled, tried another machine, called support. Weirdly a recent patch calmed it down, so now it's usable, though I still save twice. Not as terrible as before.

Tricky sign-up

I spotted this on a friend's post and told my partner to try it — product itself works fine, but the annual plan wasn't obvious and now when I try to cancel the subscription page just freezes. Delivery was okay, customer support slow and annoying.

I signed up a few months ago and at first I was pretty annoyed — kept getting charged but couldn’t log in, thought it was gone. I was skeptical to contact support, honestly, kind of hesitated, but when I did they actually fixed the missing account and stopped the extra charges, even refunded the last month. That moment when I saw the refund and could open my projects — I actually breathed out. Feels fair now, I’m pleased and relieved, a lot.

Halfway through mess

the screen and pen feel nice, customer chat helped, so I’m oddly relieved in the end.

Not very customer-friendly, sadly

reps kept repeating the same lines, wouldn't accept I didn't receive anything and pushed a big cancellation fee. I'm glad the service worked but pretty fed up with the support.

Nice tools, dodgy signup
21 reviews
I almost didn't sign up because subscription traps are my pet peeve, but I needed something reliable for quick client mockups and touching up family photos. The app itself is solid — I use it a few times a week for work and personal stuff — but the sign-up experience left me wary. A rep told me I'd have a few free months to decide, which sounded fine, but that turned into being tied into a plan I wasn't ready for. So yeah, my doubts didn't entirely vanish; I still like the software but I feel misled and I check my bill every month now. Not perfect, and the cancellation rules are confusing, but for daily editing it does the job.

Trial turned into ads, so I cancelled
5 reviews
I cancelled and I’m actually relieved. I tried the advertised free trial/cheap monthly plan to edit short family videos and social clips — something quick for evenings and the odd weekend project — but it quickly stopped being an editor and became a funnel of upsell pages. At first the editor showed up, then nothing but “buy this” after “buy that,” page after page. It also crashed my Chrome tab once, which meant re-logging into a bunch of stuff — annoying. I stuck with it a few days to see if it’d settle, but no. On top of that I tried to leave a review and got into a weird Trustpilot loop: they sent several verification codes that didn’t work and then blocked me. Odd. I’m glad I caught it early and cancelled before paying more — that’s the silver lining. Dry, factual takeaway: not useful for my daily quick edits, too many interruptions, avoid unless you like clicking buy screens.

Charged again after I cancelled

I wouldn’t rely on them for subscription billing. I bought Acrobat for my freelance paperwork after a move, needed it for client PDFs, paid the first year and thought I cancelled on time. Turns out I kept getting billed anyway. I called customer support to sort it out and they insisted I had renewed. Fine, show me proof. They couldn’t — allegedly they don’t keep renewal records older than six months. That felt wrong and left me in limbo with unexplained charges. I liked the app for editing, honestly, but this billing mess soured it. I’m disputing the charges with my card issuer and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you need reliable billing transparency (and I did, since I’m on a tight freelance budget), be cautious. Could be an honest mistake, maybe, but the lack of records and the runaround made it really frustrating.

Old habit, new reality

buy, install, go. Lately though things changed. I switched to the monthly plan a while back and it worked fine, no fuss, downloads were quick and updates came when they said. That was handy because I only edit photos every few months now. This month though they hiked my bill by about half with no heads-up. I tried to talk to someone. Hard to get a real person. Took the charge, then hit me with an early termination fee after I cancelled. Not great. So I moved on and bought Affinity as a one-time purchase — downloaded in minutes, support replied like a human and I was actually happy. Bottom line: delivery used to be reliable, and when it’s digital it still mostly is, but the customer service and billing side felt sour and clumsy. Not everything’s perfect, but the new setup does what I need and the switch was painless, which is a relief after feeling undervalued for years.

Good apps, rough billing
1 reviews
Photoshop, Illustrator and others run smoothly, cloud sync works, updates arrive regularly. So it's reliable, yes, powerful. My main gripe remains the billing side: the early-termination charges feel punitive and the communication about them could be clearer. Cancelling was a bit clunky too, had to chase info. If they offered a flexible monthly option without penalties and made cancellation steps transparent, I'd be happier. Not perfect, but for creative work it's hard to beat; don't expect friendly cancellation terms. Also customer support on billing could use proactive explanations.

Long-time user, done with the hassle
7 reviews
I’m not renewing. After years of using Creative Cloud for work and hobby projects — client mockups, quick photo edits, the odd flyer — the cancellation experience pushed me over the edge. I only wanted to let the paid plan expire and move to the free tier, but it turned into a chore: looping chat prompts, sales pitches that weren’t relevant, and me repeating the same thing more than once. It felt like every step added friction on purpose. I’m not saying the apps are bad — they did the job for a long time — but the way they treat a basic contract end felt, well, stingy. Eventually I switched to Canva for day-to-day stuff because it’s faster for the simple things I do now, and honestly that ease has won me over. I don’t like to be cynical, but this process made me question Adobe’s priorities; customer care and clarity seemed low on the list. So mild satisfaction with the alternatives, frustration with the cancellation runaround. If you value straightforwardness, be warned — and yes, they still have solid tools, just not the user-friendly service I want anymore.

Almost cancelled my sanity, not the plan
1 reviews
I remember boiling the kettle and checking my inbox on a weekday afternoon when it all hit me — I’d been on a student plan billed monthly for a year and I'd made a note to cancel before renewal. Simple, right? Turned out not. When I went to cancel a few days early the site told me I’d be charged roughly $240 USD for cancelling “early,” even though I’d already paid for that last month. That felt wrong, so I asked ChatGPT what to do and it suggested cancelling right on the renewal day to avoid being hit. Fine.

Small print tricks, decent human help in the end

I won’t be paying for Adobe again — not after how they handle subscriptions. I first noticed their “student discount” on my university’s software page (it looked like a decent deal) and I even tipped my roommate to grab it for class projects. Turns out that tip didn’t age well. Long story short, the product works fine when it’s running, but the way they slip you into contracts and renewals is what I can’t forgive.

Software sign-up

I signed up for a software free trial with this company recently and ran into a problem when I tried to cancel. Even though I read the terms and conditions carefully, I was surprised to find a big cancellation fee hidden in the fine print. It made me really frustrated and disappointed because I think it's sneaky and unfair to customers. I want to warn others to be careful when signing up for free trials with this company and make sure to go over all the terms and conditions beforehand to avoid any surprise fees or charges.

Their subscription plans are just awful. The software is way too expensive and there are much better options out there. I'm so glad I canceled my subscription, even though the fees were ridiculous.

Free trial scam

I tried out this company's free trial but wasn't happy with the product after just 3 days. I decided to cancel, but they still charged me for 2 months and threw in a cancellation fee. That's pretty sketchy and not cool. I'd recommend steering clear of this company if you don't want to get ripped off.

The free trial for this product was so disappointing. I thought I needed it for a project, but after I downloaded it and tried it out, I realized it wasn't what I wanted. I tried to cancel my subscription, but it didn't work. They told me I had to keep paying every month or pay a big fee to cancel early. Not knowing about the cancellation fee in advance was really frustrating and gave me a bad vibe.

I think the whole yearly monthly subscription thing is kind of tricky. I got sucked in by that free month trial offer, but then I saw that I'd be stuck with a subscription that I really didn't want. It would have been nice if they had been upfront about that before I signed up.
