I just bought a watch that I was really excited about getting. But man, the whole delivery and customer service thing was a real letdown. I shelled out a good chunk of change for shipping since the item was coming from another country. Then, when it showed up, I had to fork over more cash for customs charges. Like, seriously? And to top it off, the company didn't give me any updates or tracking info, which made it even more frustrating. I tried reaching out to customer service in every way possible, but got zilch in response. I felt totally ignored and stuck. It's pretty disappointing, especially since it was supposed to be a special gift for an engagement.
Waterproof watch with broken band
I bought this watch back in April, eh? But by the time May rolled around, there was water inside the glass and a screw had fallen out of the band in June, can you believe it? I've sent two emails already, but no one has gotten back to me yet!
$100 rubber watch band
So I bought this rubber watch band for $100 and it totally broke way too soon. I contacted customer service and they said there's no warranty for watch bands. I was shocked - how can a $100 band have no guarantee?!
Duck watch purchase
So, I picked up this really neat Duck watch, you know? It looked awesome and it was even made in America, which is pretty cool. But can you believe it? It keeps stopping, even though I've changed the battery several times. The company is saying it's likely just the battery causing the issue, but I have a feeling there's something else going on. I have a suspicion that they're just using the "made in America" label to make it seem all fancy, when really it's just made with cheap parts from somewhere else. I was so disappointed that the only movement this watch seemed to make was going back in its box!
Birdy watch band purchase
I bought a rose gold band for my watch recently, but when I got it, it didn't go with the watch like they said it would. Also, the prongs on the watch were bent, so the band didn't attach properly. I sent it back to get a new one, but they said it was scratched and wouldn't exchange it. How could a new item be scratched already? They were just making up excuses to avoid replacing the faulty product. And on top of that, the watch wasn't working right, but instead of fixing it, they just sent it back to me with the prongs bent a bit to make the strap fit. That kind of lazy and dishonest customer service is not okay.
Watch purchases
I was so happy with my recent watch buys at the store. Even though I read some bad reviews online, I can say that the watches are really top-notch. I got my first watch back in 2013 and I've since bought 9 more. The watches are durable and look amazing, I'm really impressed. Big shoutout to Dave at the Logan Circle store in Washington DC for his awesome customer service. He knows his stuff and always goes the extra mile to help out customers. I'll definitely be back for more Shinola watches, especially the Detrola models. My whole store experience has been amazing.
Leather goods purchase
The company's marketing tactics are pretty good, but I'm not sure about the actual quality of their leather goods. They don't really tell us much about the materials they use, and their descriptions are kind of vague, just saying things like "luxe" or "premium" leather without giving any real details. It makes me wonder if their products are really as high-quality as they claim, especially for the prices they're asking for.
Also, I wrote a review on an item I bought from them, but they didn't publish it on their website. That makes me worry about how they handle customer feedback. I guess I'll have to see how my leather zip travel kit holds up in the long run, but so far, I'm feeling pretty doubtful about the whole experience.Light silver watch
So, like, I went to this store and saw this watch that looked gold but was supposed to be silver. Turns out they raised the price before their “anniversary sale” and then gave a discount. Pretty lame if you ask me.
Quartz watch with soft leather strap
Just bought a quartz watch with a soft leather strap from the Detroit store and the service was top-notch! The watch is really nice and the leather strap is super soft. I'm happy to support American businesses. Can't complain at all.
Recent wallet purchase
I bought a wallet from this store recently, eh. Gotta be honest, my experience wasn't great. Used it for a bit and noticed the material wasn't as durable as I thought. Ended up breaking a few plastic credit cards, not cool. Only the metal one survived, making me question the wallet's quality, you know?

My recent buy of a watch was so great! The quality was amazing, from the watch to the packaging. The staff were super helpful and made the whole thing easy and enjoyable. I'm really impressed and will definitely check out more stuff from this brand in the future.
Watch and wallet
I bought a watch and wallet last year. The wallet fell apart after only 6 months, the watch battery died after just 5 months, and the strap started fading. I had to fork out extra cash for maintenance and replacements. It was really frustrating dealing with such low quality and service. I definitely wouldn't recommend buying from them, especially if you're in Canada.
Gold bracelet upgrade and customer service experience
So, I just switched out my Shinola watch strap from leather to a fancy 5-link gold bracelet. When I made the move from the US to the UK, I ran into a problem where I needed an extra link for the bracelet. It was a bit out of the ordinary for their EU repairs team. Even though I was in the UK, I reached out to Shinola in the US and they really went out of their way to help me. They quickly sent over the link I needed at no cost, bringing my watch back to life and wearable again. The customer service was top-notch, and I'm really grateful for their commitment to making sure their customers are happy.
