Gift card drama, but it worked

Product

Almost skipped the card. Used it Sunday; sceptical, then pleasantly surprised.

Quick grab, mixed feelings

Product

Needed simple tops for packing up during a move — they feel cheap but wearable, fit okay. Used self-checkout to avoid staff drama, handy that I could keep the hangers, honestly, small relief.

Lunch-break pant hunt

Product

Right in the middle of my lunch break I checked M&S because my sister swore by their short-length pants; of course every short size was gone. I eventually ordered one pair — fits fine, but restocks are glacial.

Missing jogger saga

Product

my Saturday run in the full set — warm, comfy, no drama. Nice to end on a good note and slightly relieved.

Surprise back-saver during a move

Product

a handwritten sticker on the parcel saying 'enjoy' (tiny surprise), and the return label already in the box — made me laugh. Took a little while for confirmation emails, sure, but product nailed it. Will use again, cautiously optimistic. Price felt fair, too.

Mid-bite realisation

Product

too much gristle, odd bits that don’t belong in a pie you pay a premium for. What actually made me satisfied, oddly, wasn’t the pie itself but how they handled it when I complained. The team listened, asked for photos and offered a straightforward refund — that’s rare and it mattered. So yes, the product wasn’t perfect, and I won’t buy that specific chef-labelled pie again, but the experience overall wasn’t a disaster. If you try it, inspect it and keep your receipt; if you’re fussy about meat quality, skip it. For others who just want a decent meal and decent backing, it’ll do.

Finally tried the jeans, still spotty stock

Product

nothing available in that length in any style. I did eventually find one pair in a store further away and tried them on, so I can at least say how they feel. The denim is midweight, not the stiff kind, a little bit of give but not stretchy like leggings — just enough to move. Waist sat where I expect a W36 to sit, though after sitting for a while the back rides up a touch, so you might want a belt. Leg length at L35 was actually fine when hemmed properly; without hemming they puddle a bit, so keep that in mind. Pockets are shallow, I noticed my phone bobbed up, which is annoying, and the fly feels a bit loose — not a big deal but noticeable. Customer service over the phone was polite, helpful-ish, but they missed that I specifically wanted 35-inch leg length — had to repeat myself. Being told to drive 16 miles to another store is not practical, well, not for me anyway. Overall I like the fabric and the fit once you have the right length, but availability is the real pain. If they sorted stock for common sizes this would be an easy pick; as it stands, you might spend extra time hunting or paying for hemming.

Overly Thick Chocolate Hollow Egg

Product

The chocolate hollow egg I bought was really pretty, with a smooth texture and bits of shortcake in it. But man, that chocolate was thick! I had to grab a hammer to get through it. And to top it off, it wasn't even egg-shaped like it was supposed to be. Overall, it was tasty but not very practical. Pretty disappointing experience.

Kids' leggings

Product

OMG, like seriously, I bought these leggings for my little sister, and they got dirty so quick! I mean, it was just a tiny bit of mud, but the stain wouldn't budge no matter what I tried. I've had problems with their kids' clothes in the past, so I'm definitely not getting them again. And don't even get me started on the unhelpful staff in the store and customer service, ughhh.

Chocolate dog

Product

The chocolate dog I got for Easter was a real letdown. When I first saw it, I thought it was super cute. But as soon as I took a bite, I was disappointed. It tasted like those super cheap chocolate candies, definitely not what I was hoping for from a brand that's known for quality. This product really didn't live up to what I was expecting, and I was pretty bummed out by the lack of quality. M&S, you really dropped the ball on this one.

Dead flowers after 2 days

Product

I bought a bouquet of flowers for my mom from M&S at Exeter Services, but a lot of the daffodils wilted and died before they even got the chance to bloom. Super disappointing because I normally get good flowers from there that last a long time. M&S, that was a big fail!

Meal purchase from the healthy eating selection

Product

I just tried one of the meals from the healthy eating selection, and let me tell you, I was really disappointed. The meal had some good flavor, but the chicken was terrible. It was gristly and I couldn't even eat it - not cool, especially coming from a supposedly reputable brand. This whole thing has turned me off from trying anything else in this range again.

Palazzo jeans from the store

Product

I picked up these amazing palazzo jeans from the store, and let me tell you, they're so stylish and comfortable! Tasha at the store helped me choose them, and I'm so happy she did because I've been wearing them all the time for two weeks. They look so good on me and I've been getting tons of compliments. Thanks to Tasha and the store for these awesome jeans!

Purchased faulty furniture

Product

Eh, so I bought some furniture not too long ago and boy was I disappointed. Turns out the foam cushions were all wonky, which was a real bummer. And to top it off, the customer service I got when I tried to sort it out was just not up to snuff. Seems like the quality of both the products and service has really taken a nosedive since the last time I shopped there. I reckon I'll have to think long and hard before I make another furniture purchase from that store, that's for sure.

Dress purchase, Mesh fabric

Product

I recently bought a dress online and man, I was so disappointed with what I got. Took three days for the delivery to arrive, only to see that the slip inside the dress was nowhere to be found. All I got was this cheap black mesh fabric that looked nothing like the photo. It's really disappointing that the company didn't pay more attention to the details and quality of their items. I paid a good amount of money for this dress and I was expecting way better. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning this poor quality dress and maybe even argue with customer service. This whole situation is so frustrating and just not worth it.

Cream sweater with mock arron pattern

Product

I recently bought a cream sweater with a mock arron pattern a few months back, and let me tell you, I was really let down by the quality. It was supposed to be top-notch, but it ended up feeling cheap and poorly put together. The material was scratchy and not comfy against my skin at all - definitely not the luxurious experience I was hoping for. Even their fancy Autograph Cashmere sweaters seemed to lose their softness and look after only a month of wear. If you want a sweater that will keep its quality and look, I'd suggest checking out other options.
