Transport
yes, there were hiccups; and yes, overall I’m actually happy I went with them.
Two weeks before the flight I rang to check tickets and got stuck in a confusing call about an “outstanding” balance even though I’d already paid. It left me grumpy, for sure. Fast forward: arrival day, long travel, we got charged $30 for early check-in, and the first room was basically a cave facing a wall. We asked to move and the staff sorted a better room pretty quickly, which was a relief.
The transfers were clumsy — pickup time was changed (3:45 a.m. to 5:45 a.m.), so I booked a backup ride. Both showed up and it was awkward; we took the taxi and later had to sort cancellation fees. Not ideal, but not the end of the world either.
What made me glad I booked was how the rest played out: the later hotel nights were comfortable, the local arrangements went smoothly, and the trip itself was fantastic. So, I’m thankful it turned out well despite the messy bits. Would I use them again? Possibly — just with extra confirmations and patience.

Serviceunderstaffed support, slow callbacks, and no clear ownership of the problem. If I could give one piece of advice to other travellers, it’s to screenshot everything, push for written confirmations, and maybe have a backup plan if dates matter. I’m a bit annoyed but still think the platform is useful for cheap trips, just be prepared for potential hiccups and long waits. Hoping they sort their customer service — that would make this combo actually a winner.

Communicationthe platform and deals are good, and I was genuinely excited about the idea, but make sure you get a responsive person on the line if it matters to you. We needed flexibility and quick responses — and that’s where they fell short. Still, I’d consider them again if I could confirm agent availability first.

BookingHalfway through checking the group list I realized this was turning into one of those trips where you spend more time on email than actually planning the holiday. A friend had tipped me off about RedTag and the price looked decent, so I phoned to book for the group. At first I thought it would be fine — person on the line sounded helpful, we went through options, everything seemed in place. Then the paperwork started to drift. Invoices showed up in different flavours, some missing, some at different prices than what I’d been told, and one person didn’t get charged at all even though the booking status said they were paid. I had to dig into my credit card to make sense of it and, sure enough, they charged me for someone who supposedly hadn’t been billed. Then later they charged that person too. So now we have double motion, mixed invoices, and me spending evenings forwarding screenshots and asking for clarifications.

Price
the small top-right text would bump the total up by hundreds and it’s easy to miss, especially on a phone. At first the site showed the lower fare, then the final statement had a big jump — and I’d only been given an estimate, not the firm price I expected. As someone who needed a proper getaway (work stress, and honestly my back needed a break), I wanted things to be clear. Instead I spent time chasing answers.
I’m not angry-angry, more disappointed. After 10+ years I hoped for better transparency and a customer-first vibe. If they can’t be clearer about final charges and train reps not to blame customers, I’ll probably look elsewhere next time. Still open to a decent resolution, but yeah — check the fine print closely, especially on mobile.

OverallI went from wary to relieved. Not sponsored, not related, just passing on a surprisingly good experience.
