Floods in Dubai and stuck in Dubai

Oh man, my family got stranded in Dubai because of those dumb floods, so we ended up missing our trip to Mauritius. We had booked a hotel online, and it was just a complete nightmare. The hotel actually tried to charge us even though we couldn't make it due to the floods. Dealing with their customer service was a total nightmare too.

I've been a loyal customer of this company for a while now, and I wanted to share a recent frustrating experience I had with my booking. While I was on vacation at a hotel on a Greek Island, I suddenly got really sick and had to go to the hospital. Because of this, I had to leave the hotel a night earlier than planned. When I asked for a refund for that unused night, Hotels.com said no and asked for a bunch of documents and proof. This whole situation made me feel like they were being unfair, dishonest, and not treating me right. I'm not sure if I want to keep using their services after this.

I thought I had booked a room that I could cancel and get my money back later, but they ended up taking my money right away! When I tried to cancel a couple days later, they basically told me too bad, no refund for you. It was really tough to actually get in touch with them, but when I finally did, they were not helpful whatsoever. I'm definitely not using them again, I'd much rather just book directly with the hotel next time!
