Recent order experience
I just put in an order for pick up at the store and man, the customer service was absolutely awful. I went off on a little long weekend trip and when I got back, found out they had gone ahead and canceled my order without even giving me a heads up. And to top it all off, when I tried to place the order again, they told me I couldn't get it at the original price. Like, seriously? That's totally not cool and it's really put me off.
Earring purchase
My experience with this store has been pretty upsetting, eh? Especially after dealing with a pair of earrings that turned out to be defective in my last order. Even though I sent them back right away and the store got them back quick, the customer service person didn't handle the situation well at all, which caused a delay in getting my refund sorted out. The fact that there was no communication or follow-up from the store is just not cool, and it's left me feeling pretty frustrated and disappointed, eh? It's sad to see the service quality going downhill like this, especially after everything the world has been through with the pandemic, eh?
Clothing items
I just went to this clothing store on McAllister Drive and man, I gotta say, the customer service was top-notch! The staff really went out of their way to help me out and they knew their stuff when it came to the products. The store was super organized and had a good variety of sizes, although they were low on a few sizes. All in all, it was a great shopping trip and I'll definitely be going back in the future.
Winter boots purchase
I bought these snow boots back in September because I have big feet and wanted to make sure to get my size before they sold out. But come December, one of the boots completely fell apart! Seriously, can you believe it? Penningtons didn't want to do anything about it and told me it was past the 60-day exchange period. Ugh, so frustrating. You'd expect $150 boots to last longer than 3 months, right?
Overpriced plus size clothing
The Reitmans group has really let me down when it comes to online orders. I mean, they pretty much run the show when it comes to plus size clothing in Canada, but their inability to keep track of stock and their lack of customer service is just not cutting it. It's super frustrating when they tell you your order is cancelled without even giving you a heads up if the item is out of stock when you order. And when you try to get some help, they basically make you do all the work by asking for old and new order numbers for a price match. Like, come on, that's not cool. It shows they really couldn't care less about their customers. Shopping online as a plus-sized person is already tough, and Reitman group's actions just add to the struggle. It's like they care more about making money than making their customers happy, which isn't right. They need to step up their game.
Style Insider program certificates
I'm so frustrated with this brand, it's hard to put it into words. The customer service from the head office in Montreal is just terrible. They don't even bother to read emails properly, just sending out generic responses. And don't even get me started on the Style Insider program - it's a total rip-off. You never actually get any of the certificates they promise. Such a waste of time and money.
Online clothing order
I just made an online clothing order and let me tell you, it was a huge letdown. The website was a pain to use, which made the whole ordering thing feel like a nightmare. And to top it off, I got hit with two shipping fees that totaled over a hundred bucks! Don't even get me started on the customer service - they were no help at all and didn't fix a single thing. I've decided I'm done with this store, no more shopping here for me.
Product received damaged
Eh, so I got this thing I bought and when it came, it was in really bad shape. Like, couldn't even wear it bad. Took it back to the store all packaged up and asked for my money back, but they said no and sent me to Canada Post for who knows why. My poor old mom got swindled outta $50-$60, and I am so let down by how unprofessional the store staff was about it. Definitely not going back there, that's for sure.
Cotton tops, thin and see-through
The quality of the products has really gone downhill lately, yet the prices keep going up. I mean, the tops I got were basically see-through, like they were made of tissue paper. And don't even get me started on the jackets - filled with this cheap polyester but priced like they're top-notch down-filled ones. Plus, ordering online was a total nightmare. My package never showed up, and now Canada Post and the company are just pointing fingers at each other. Penningtons wants me to wait a whole month for a refund, then buy the items again at full price and hope for a refund on the difference later. I even offered to pay upfront for a new order, but they shot me down. Absolutely horrible customer service all around.
Cancelled order due to pricing issue
I had a bit of a rough time with the customer service at the store recently. I placed an order for over $1200, but then saw there was a 60% off sale items promo. I tried to cancel my order a few times to get the discount, but the customer service folks couldn't help me out. It's pretty annoying when a store doesn't honor deals that should apply to your purchase, and it's left me feeling disappointed. I think they need to improve their communication and customer service to avoid stuff like this happening again.
Email signup discount
I signed up for emails to get a 20% discount, but the code didn't work because the stuff I wanted was 'branded'. The customer service wasn't very helpful and didn't give me a different code.
Hipsters disaster
I picked up these hipsters because I've bought them before and they were super comfy. But this time around, they're not great! The cotton is really thin and feels cheap, and the elastic is basically falling off. I don't know what happened to the quality, but it's definitely not as good as before. I'm not sure if I'll even be able to wear these more than a couple times before they fall apart. Pretty disappointed with this buy.
Online order coupon
Shopping online at Penningtons was a complete nightmare for me. I'm someone with a compromised immune system, so I can't easily go out to shop in person. I had to rely on their online service. Unfortunately, my order got split into 3 shipments, with one coming all the way from BC during a shipping crisis. The BC package never showed up, even though it was delayed twice. When I reached out to Penningtons, I kept getting different dates to check back and conflicting information. Then, when I contacted Canada Post and filed a service ticket, the communication between the sender and the carrier was really ineffective and not helpful. After 5 days of investigation, I was supposed to get an email about a credit, but when I finally received it, the amount was wrong. The customer service was super rude and unhelpful, and they even tried to blame me for giving incorrect information. All in all, this whole online shopping experience has been an absolute nightmare and a huge letdown.
Bootcut Jeans, occasional tops
The selection at the store these days just isn't the same as it used to be. I really miss the MXM brand and all the cool, young styles they used to have. Nowadays, it's hard to find something that really stands out to me. I keep coming back to this store though, mainly for their Bootcut Jeans that always fit me just right. Once in a while, I'll find a top that I actually like, but it's pretty rare.
Online ordering experience
I had a real pain dealing with their online ordering thing recently. The chat person was no help whatsoever, so I had to scrap my order since I couldn't switch up the shipping address, only the billing one. I don't have a store close by, so it was a big headache and hassle. I started wondering if they even give a darn about losing customers because of their dumb online system restrictions.
Recent clothing purchases
Hey there, as a loyal customer, I've gotta say, I've been having some major struggles with the sizing of your clothes lately. As a petite queen-sized gal, it's been a real challenge to find stuff that actually fits right. Those size 24XP pants have been all over the place, some way too big, some way too small. And don't even get me started on the t-shirts - used to rock a comfy 2X, but now it's like they've completely changed the sizing system. So frustrating! I've had to return 3 out of 4 items I bought in the last month because of this inconsistency. The new branding of the t-shirts only adds to the confusion - like the "Girlfriend fit" totally misses the mark now. The "Modern Fit" is closer to a 2X, but way too long. And the limited options like the "Curvy Fit" just don't cut it. Even the socks and undies have been a letdown in terms of quality and fit. On the bright side, I did luck out with one pair of sale boots. But overall, the customer service has been a bit lacking - minimal communication and online issues not being addressed in-store. The staff on the phone have been helpful, but with the lack of options and declining quality of clothes, it's making it really hard for me to want to keep shopping here.
Wider shoes purchase
So, I bought these shoes for wide feet, but they didn't fit right. I wanted to return them or maybe get a discount, but when I reached out to customer service, they were no help at all. The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing and couldn't solve my problem. I tried to explain my situation, but they didn't even try to find a solution. So, I've decided to shop at places like DSW or Browns where they actually care about their customers and fix problems right away.
