Useful, not perfect

Service

I first saw it on a friend's feed and told my sister to get one. Customer service was the standout — Joe patiently resolved my issue. Frame works fine, small quirks; delivery was a bit slow.

Tiny win — photos on the wall

Product

Woke up smiling — finally got those family photos off my phone and onto the frame. It feels sturdy, the screen looks sharp and colours are nice. Setup via the app was quick, I appreciated it after losing pictures in my camera roll for years. Happy.

That aha moment

Price

I'd used the device for years and liked it, really—then they hid features behind a subscription. Broke my trust, so I ordered from someone else. Got the new one last week; unboxed it, it worked straight away. That moment I knew I made the right call and felt relieved.

Finally works

App & Portal

give them time; the app needs patience.

Finally synced with the family

Product

I’m pretty happy I joined the family album setup. I started using it last week and was a bit sceptical at first — thought pairing and uploads might be a hassle — but it was straightforward. The website is simple and drag-and-drop, and the Plus plan (I needed more than 500 MB) felt like reasonable value. Relatives have used their frames for years, so getting their photos was a nice bonus. No fuss, just works.

Little daily window

Product

I actually love how the frame just sits on the side table and updates by itself. Been running one for years—mom and mother-in-law back in Angola get fresh photos of the kids without asking. I just send pics from my phone and they pop up. Way easier than emailing, and it feels pretty warm and personal.

Living-room hit

Service

The kids literally camp out in front of the frame — standing, sitting, calling out faces, it's become the go-to hangout. I was also really relieved by customer support (shout to Maris) — quick, practical answers and they actually fixed my question, which is rare after dealing with other companies. Feels good to be pleasantly surprised and I'm honestly grateful it worked out so smoothly, now keeps the family smiling.

Finally someone who actually helps

Service

after one quick email the frame updated and my mom's photos were back on display. I bought the digital frame because we moved her closer and she gets lonely, and I'd had a poor experience with another brand that vanished. The setup guide was a bit vague, sure, but support was human, patient and even sent a screenshot — that surprised me. Made more difference than I thought.

Mostly okay, support not so much

Service

it displays photos, but dealing with the company afterward felt like banging my head against a tech support wall. We bought one because the images looked great — husband and I were actually enjoying it — then hit a limit when our album filled up. Creating a new album seemed simple, but the frame only showed maybe twenty pics from then on, despite following the steps. Phone support? Non-existent. We even paid extra for 'priority' help and got... an email a few days later asking if the issue was fixed. Frustrating. Other brands sorted similar stuff quicker, so while the frame works most of the time, the service killed the vibe.

Finally saw my grandma's silly hat

Service

I tried to upload a batch of pictures and got the same "wrong format" error that drove me nuts. For weeks I was stuck chatting with a bot that kept telling me someone would look into it (they did, eventually). The real turning point was when a tech actually confirmed my subscription, increased my quota on the spot and, after a reboot I didn't expect to help, my grandma's ridiculous birthday hat showed up on the frame. That tiny bit of proof — a picture appearing — was the moment I relaxed. Had worse support elsewhere, but this fixed it.

Paid more to avoid fees — now it’s half what I bought for

Service

the frames do show my photos, but I feel baited-and-switched and I wouldn’t buy three of them again if I had to decide today. I needed these for my elderly parents — I paid a premium so they wouldn’t have ongoing subscription nonsense — and that’s the whole story. At the time of purchase the product copy promised 10 GB of free storage and Google Photos/Dropbox syncing without a subscription. Now the free tier is shrunk to about 0.5 GB and syncing looks like it needs a paid plan. So yeah, the hardware works, the photos appear, delivery was fine, but the key promise that sold me on it vanished. I’m sceptical by nature, and this pushed me from annoyed to grudgingly resigned: the frames do the job, but the company changing terms after the fact feels off — especially when there’s a clause about arbitration instead of court. I’ve been back-and-forth with support a bit; they’re not terrible but this is a design/terms problem, not a helpdesk one. If you’re buying for parents to avoid fees, ask direct questions first — don’t assume the advertised perks are forever.

Quick delivery, helpful support

Service

remove the frame, hit the tiny reset hole with a paperclip while plugging it back in — awkward and clumsy, not ideal. Still, with his guidance I did it myself and it worked. So I'm grateful for the fast, patient support and the prompt delivery. The product is solid otherwise, just the reset design could use some love. I already told a couple friends to check it out — figured they'd appreciate the photos, and now I can say the support is legit.

Limitation on Google photo linking

App & Portal

I'm really upset about the recent decision to restrict linking to Google photos. I bought the frame because it was supposed to work with Google photos, and now I feel disappointed. Changing the policy in the middle of things is not a good business move and shows a lack of care for customers like me. I bought this product with certain expectations, and those expectations were not met. So, I'll be exploring other options and suggesting brands like Aura frames to my family and friends.

Nixplay Frames Purchased

Product

I recently bought 4 frames from this company because tech publications gave them great reviews. But I've got a problem with 3 of them. The photos on them keep changing orientation, sometimes landscape, sometimes portrait, even after I've tried adjusting settings on the website. It's frustrating and not letting me enjoy the photos properly. I tried reaching out to customer service through chat since phone support isn't available anymore. The technician mentioned that different frames have different orientation options, but I still don't understand why there are limitations like this. Seems more like a software problem than a hardware one that needs fixing. Also, the lack of clear info on orientation differences between frame models is a concern because it wasn't explained well in the product descriptions. Overall, I wouldn't recommend buying these frames unless you go for the newest ones to avoid these issues on older models.

Wifi photo frame

Communication

The wifi photo frame is not bad, but there are definitely cheaper and better quality options out there. The best part is the wifi posting function, it works really well and that's why I got this product. But I was really let down by the company's sneaky marketing. The sales emails made me think I was getting a big discount, but it was actually way less. NixPlay, just be honest with your customers about your deals and stop trying to trick us.

Photo frame purchase

Service

I bought a photo frame not too long ago and I've been having a great time putting up a ton of pictures on it. But the other day, the remote got wrecked because of a little mishap at home, so I decided to get in touch with customer service for help. I was really pleasantly surprised by how amazing the support was. They didn't just quickly send me a new remote for free, they even threw in a battery with it. I gotta say, I'm really impressed by how good this product is and the awesome customer service. Thanks a bunch.

Received digital photo frame as gift

App & Portal

I received a Nixplay for Christmas from my kid, but it was super confusing trying to set it up. The instructions only cover the basics like how to turn it on, not how to actually get photos onto it. And trying to find help was a nightmare - definitely not easy for someone who's used to PCs like me.

Photo frame subscription

Price

I got this really awesome photo frame that connects to my Google photos and changes the pictures all on its own. But then they hit me with a monthly fee to keep using it. No thanks, Nick! Ended up getting a Google Hub Max instead. See ya!

Recent purchase

App & Portal

I bought something from this company and I was really let down by how they changed the product. At first, I could make lots of playlists with tons of photos, but then they updated the app and now I can only have 100 images unless I pay for a subscription. That's not cool at all and it made me feel tricked and annoyed. I think companies should be honest about what their products can do and not surprise customers with restrictions after they buy something.

Frame troubleshooting and customer service

Service

So I bought this frame from the company four years ago and it just started acting up recently. It started showing these weird lines and going offline, so I reached out for help. But man, the customer service was not great. All they said was I could get a new frame for 50% off. On top of that, the frame didn't even work well with turning it on and off from a distance. Overall, I'm not happy with how things went down and I won't be buying from them again.
