TripAdvisor - Reviews and experiences

Hey there, so I was trying to post a review but for some reason they're not letting me! They keep emailing me and saying it doesn't meet their guidelines. I even tried adding a photo but still no luck! There's really no way to tell them they messed up. Ugh!

My recent stay at the hotel was amazing, eh? I spent a full week at the Devonshire Hotel and it was absolutely fantastic, eh? The room was cozy and spotless, the staff were super friendly and on the ball, the manager made sure everything was running smoothly, the entertainment was a blast, and the other guests were so welcoming, eh? I got to meet a bunch of new pals during my stay and we all decided to come back next year at the same time to hang out again, eh? We even swapped phone numbers to stay in touch. All in all, my stay was simply incredible and something I'll never forget.

The hotel just got a makeover with new showers, cozy beds, and all-around cleanliness. But, the restaurant kinda lost its vibe and now feels a bit impersonal. The staff is nice and the service is okay, but having to pay for water and the food isn't all that great. The pool area is cool, but the music is meh. Overall, the hotel isn't as appealing as it used to be and I wouldn't want to stay here again.

I've been using this platform for a long time to check out hotels, restaurants, and attractions based on what other customers say. I've also left some reviews myself to give back to the community. But I got an email recently saying that a hotel I reviewed had a big renovation and all previous reviews, including mine, were removed. This doesn't sit right with me because the whole point of the site is to give reliable info to help people make decisions. I get that they want to show off the improvements, but it shouldn't erase the experiences others have shared.

I had a super frustrating experience with this company. I was thinking of signing up with them, but they completely messed up my account. They didn't care about my privacy or rights, and their campaigns were not focused on customers at all.

As someone who uses TripAdvisor a lot, I've noticed a problem with the search results. They seem to favor sponsored listings over genuine local recommendations. I saw this clearly when I was looking for restaurants in Quarteira, Portugal. Most of the places listed were actually 10-20km away from the town. This sneaky trick makes it hard for people to find real local dining spots and it makes TripAdvisor seem less trustworthy for travel advice. I think TripAdvisor should focus more on accuracy and authenticity in their search results to help their users better.

My buddy and I crashed at a hotel in Bowness on Windermere back in March. Let me tell ya, the spot was top-notch, smack dab in the middle of town. A lot of the staff were super friendly, helpful, and on the ball, especially Lynn at the front desk. She really went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Our room was spotless and had a killer view of the lake, totally worth the dough we shelled out. But, gotta be real, there were a couple of hiccups - finding parking was a nightmare and breakfast was a bit of a madhouse in the morning since there wasn't enough staff on deck.

The service at the hotel was amazing! That guy with the strange name, Samim, really saved the day with a perfectly poured pint.
