A day-before cancellation, honestly
A day-before cancellation, honestly
CancellationWoke up to chaos the day before our trip when our hotel cancellation popped up on my phone. My partner and I had booked two rooms back in April for an October getaway — booking was easy, prices seemed fair, first impression was good. Then, one day before travel the hotel cancelled without explanation. Tried calling the hotel and Agoda, tossed around on hold, no real help, no alternatives offered. Super stressful. Weirdly, we did find a nicer little B&B at the last minute through a local group — totally unexpected. Still, Agoda should do better here; this was rough.

Cancellation"that policy only applies to disasters", or "we don't see that" — or they flat-out pretended not to understand "full cancellation per policy". Delivery of the promised process was poor: what was advertised wasn't delivered. In the end I'll claim through my travel insurance. Advice: use a platform with a real instant-cancel control. Wish they'd fix the workflow and train staff to actually read policies.

CancellationI was annoyed at first but it did get sorted — not sleek, but doable. I actually spotted the booking because a coworker tipped me in our Slack channel, said “grab it quick,” so I booked two rooms. When I went to cancel one night later the site and emails made it look like the whole thing was off, but turns out only one room was cancelled and the other stayed active (which was a surprise and not in a nice way). I complained, got the usual robotic replies, then a real person popped up — and that was the surprising bit — they explained what went wrong and gave a clear timeline for a refund. It took longer than they promised, and yes, there were annoying delays and repeated follow-ups from me, but eventually the refund showed up. Also, their app made rebooking another place pretty painless, which I didn’t expect. So: check confirmations carefully, don’t assume a single email covers everything, and if you do hit a snag, keep nudging customer service — sometimes a human will step in and actually help. Would I use them again? Maybe, cautiously. Overall a bumpy ride with a decent finish.
Double booking cancellation

CancellationOh man, it was just brutal trying to cancel that double booking. I did everything right, gave them the booking number, dates, guest name, the works. But still, no help. They were all like, "Oops, the info ain't right," but wouldn't even clue me in on what was off. I just wanted to fix things, you know?
Accommodation booking in Europe
Accommodation booking in Europe
CancellationI recently booked a place to stay through this website for my trip to Europe. The booking process was easy and they had a super tempting offer for a cancellation policy that was fully refundable. But when I tried to cancel less than a day later, I was in for a shock. They wanted to charge me a massive 96% cancellation fee. It was totally not what I was expecting and left me feeling disappointed. The customer service didn't really help and didn't want to admit they were at fault for having incorrect info on their site. They pointed fingers at the property owner, who then blamed Agoda. It was all just frustrating and not what I signed up for. I definitely wouldn't recommend using this site for booking accommodations.
