I recently bought the Hushed app on Appsumo and, gotta say, it didn't go as smoothly as I thought it would. They didn't clearly mention that there's a 6-month limit on using the app and that the phone number renews automatically, which was a bummer. I think they should've been upfront about that when you buy it to avoid any confusion or annoyed customers.
Aussie needing US number
I live in Australia and I needed a US phone number for messages from my US bank account. I signed up for the PAYG International Package for $4.99 a month and it's been exactly what I needed. The service has delivered everything they said it would.
My account got deleted
I rented a phone number about a year ago and I didn't even use it. I just kept renewing the lease every 3 months. And then out of nowhere, my account got deleted. I reached out to support and they said I broke the rules. But how is that possible if I never even used the number?
Lifetime subscription expiration
This shady company had the nerve to let my lifetime subscription run out without even giving me a heads up. How can they just ignore their own terms of service like that? And on top of that, their customer support is nowhere to be found. I've been waiting for over a month to hear back about my question, and still haven't received anything. It's like they took my money and vanished into thin air. Completely shameful behavior. I highly recommend avoiding this service. I'm thinking about taking this problem to the right authorities.
Fake mobile number
This app's service is a total ripoff, eh. I tried to use it, but kept having to reset my password just to get into my account. And on top of that, the "mobile number" they gave me was just a VOIP number, which I could have got for free somewhere else. Waste of my time and money, for sure.

The subscription for unlimited monthly texts really ticked me off. I got an email saying my account was randomly deactivated and I needed to pay more to get it back up. This is the second time it happened in just one week, so now I lost all my texts and call history. Avoid this service at all costs! Everything was fine at first - setting up an account, paying, and using the number given. But after only 2 weeks, I got locked out of my account out of nowhere. Stay away from this service, seriously. I bought a "lifetime" number and it got sold to someone else.
