Got some stuff in November
So, I ordered a few things back in November and they promised it would ship out right away. Can you believe it? It's halfway through December and I still haven't received anything! I tried reaching out to them, but all they sent me was an email saying my order is on its way. I couldn't even cancel my order! Thankfully, my credit card company is helping me get my money back. This company is absolutely terrible and completely dishonest with their customers.
Terrible company
This company is seriously the worst. I bought something, and let me tell you, it was just terrible. When I tried to return it, the whole process was even worse. Never again, lesson learned, that's for sure.
Deceptive cancellation policy
I was really disappointed with my experience on the website. The cancellation policy they have on there is super confusing and not clear at all. I tried to cancel my order right on the website, but they made me send an email instead. Even though they say you can cancel if your order isn't processing yet, they wouldn't give me a refund the same night I ordered because my order was still 'pending'. They said the only way I could get my money back was if I returned the item, even though their website says something different. It's pretty worrying to see that lots of other people are having the same problem based on what I read in the reviews. All in all, I just don't trust this website anymore and I won't be buying anything from them again.
Customer Service
As a customer at Food52, I was really let down by the limited ways to get help with customer service problems. It's surprising that a company that mostly sells things online doesn't have a phone number for customers to call when they have issues. I had a problem with an order and tried to return it by contacting their customer service team, but got no reply. After many tries, I finally got a return label, but was shocked to see that I had to pay for return shipping. This kind of poor customer service is pretty bad for a company in NYC, a big place for business and customer care.
Victoria tortilla press and grill press
I recently got the Victoria tortilla press and grill press from Food52, and let me tell you, I was really not happy with my purchase. The whole thing cost me 105 bucks, even with a $20 promo code, but it really wasn't worth it. Today, the items showed up in a super badly packaged box, no protection at all for the tortilla press, which ended up getting wrecked. The box was all crushed and opened a bit, plus, the measurements were totally wrong. I was supposed to get a 12" x 10" press, but it was only 9 and 1/4 inches. And the inside was all messed up too, rusty and scratched. All in all, I was really disappointed with what I got.
Kitchen gadgets
Eh, don't bother buying from this company, eh! They take your money right away and then you're left without your stuff. I was all pumped to order some sweet kitchen gadgets, but after a whole month, still nothing showed up. And when I reached out to them, they just brushed me off and said it was my own fault. Their customer service is just brutal, eh!

After I got a chipped bowl in my order, I contacted the customer service team at Food52. At first, there wasn't much communication, but they ended up sending me a new one without any problems. I liked how quickly and effectively they fixed the issue. I should have checked the reviews first to know about possible quality problems, but in the end, I'm happy with how everything turned out.
Paypal Payment Issue
I paid for my order with Paypal and I was really looking forward to getting my stuff. But then I had to wait forever, and I realized that my payment was actually for some sneaky subscription! It was like a surprise party that nobody asked for.
Returning items nightmare
My experience trying to return stuff on this website was a total nightmare! They totally screwed up sending me the labels and ended up crediting me for the wrong thing. Now I'm stuck with busted goods and they won't even respond to my messages. Definitely not shopping on this site again!
Interview Process
I just went through the interview process with this company, and let me tell you, it was like a rollercoaster of emotions. At first, I was so excited when they reached out after the developer challenge, saying how impressed they were. But then, things went downhill real fast when they went silent after saying there would be more interviews. The lack of communication and professionalism from the HR person, "Ammie", was just so disappointing and honestly, it left a bad taste in my mouth. It's really too bad that a company that seemed so promising would treat potential employees so poorly.
Dish rack and storage rack
This company is a total nightmare to deal with. Firstly, I made a purchase as a guest and forgot to log in to my account. They wouldn't give me credit for the purchase, even though I spent a lot of money. Apparently, you only get rewards if you order through an account, but that was not clearly stated on their website. Secondly, the quality of the items I bought was really disappointing. The Yamazaki dish rack and storage rack looked strong in the pictures, but they're actually poorly made and don't work like they should. And to top it all off, one of the items came with defects in two different areas. When I tried to return it for a refund, they wanted to hit me with a crazy return fee and take away the promotional discount that was applied to my whole order. It's just not right. I've filed a claim and I'm waiting to hear back, but I don't have high hopes that they'll fix things. Just a heads up - stay away from this company, it's not worth your time or money.
Late delivery issue
I recently had a problem with a late delivery from this company and let me tell you, it was a total nightmare. I made an online purchase but accidentally put in the wrong shipping address. Right away, I reached out to customer service to fix the error. But man, it was so frustrating trying to talk to someone who could actually help. Finally, when I got through to a customer service rep, they told me my stuff hadn't been shipped yet. But they said it was too late to change the address since it was already "in the system". I was so annoyed and let down by the lack of support and their refusal to assist me. It's just not cool to have such unhelpful customer service for such a simple problem like a wrong shipping address.
Damaged expensive kitchen item
I bought this expensive kitchen thing from the company back in late October for a Christmas gift. Sadly, when my family member opened it, it was all messed up. I got in touch with the company, not even asking for my money back, just wanted them to send me a new one. But they said no, wouldn't replace the messed up item. I was really let down by the crappy quality of the product and the fact that the company pretty much ignored me.
Refund missing after return

I'm so pleased with my new outdoor dining chairs. They came really fast and look absolutely gorgeous. They're light but still really strong, and now they're my go-to choice for sitting outside. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with my buy!

Oh gosh, I ordered a gift online and they didn't even bother to let me know it was gonna be late. And when I found out, they wouldn't even let me cancel! And then they were all like, "just return it." But seriously, how am I supposed to return a gift? It was so annoying. I would totally recommend not buying gifts from this place.
Gift certificate
I was unlucky enough to get a gift card for this place and let me tell you, using it was a total disaster. I had to go through a bunch of steps just to make an account on their website so I could use the gift card. And then the checkout process was so complicated and confusing, I thought I needed a PhD to figure it out. It's almost like they want to make it hard for people to use their gift cards on purpose. It's obvious they care more about cash than making things easy for their customers. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else.
