Tool unlocking for multiple DNA kits
So, I just shelled out some cash to unlock the chromosome browser feature for several DNA kits that I oversee. Ran into a bit of a snag at first - the feature was only working for me and not the other kits. Had to cough up some more dough to unlock it for one of the kits, but I gotta say, the quick response and access to the chromosome browser was a nice surprise. All in all, happy with the service I got.
Genetic testing kit
The website layout and navigation over at FamilyTreeDNA was pretty confusing and a bit overwhelming for me, to be honest. I'm not too familiar with genealogy stuff, so I had a hard time figuring out how to find the information I needed. The website didn't have many features that were easy to use, which made the whole thing really frustrating. It might be a good idea for them to update their website to make it easier for all kinds of people to use, not just the pros. Since I had such a tough time getting around the site, I can't really say for sure how good their services are.
Y111 kit purchase
I recently bought a Y111 kit for my son at a pretty steep price. Even though they said we'd get the results in 3-6 weeks, it's been way longer with no updates. I even had to report them to the BBB because they haven't been clear about what's going on with my son's sample. At first they said the sample was too small, but then they said they were waiting for the lab manager's confirmation since June 30, 2021. But we still haven't got any results, refund, or replacement kit. Their customer service replies have been really vague and not helpful. I suggest finding another provider for your needs.
Y chromosome test
I've seen a bunch of negative reviews floating around, but personally, I feel like they're making a big deal out of nothing. Yeah, there are definitely some areas that could be better, but let's acknowledge the good stuff too. This company has seriously upped their game over time. I have to admit, I'm pretty darn impressed. Their Y chromosome test is amazing and gives such a thorough look at the paternal line. It's hands down the best option available.
My recent DNA testing kit
I got myself one of those DNA testing kits from this company, and you know what? I was actually pretty impressed with how accurate the results were. It was easy to do, the whole process was straightforward, and the kit showed up pretty fast.
DNA kit purchase
I ordered a DNA kit from this place and it was awesome! The sales team was really nice and helpful. The coolest part is they do all the processing right in their fancy lab. FamilyTree does a great job at matching up the DNA samples.
Genetic testing services
As a customer of this genetic testing service, I've been pretty happy with the info they give me. Before November 2019, I could easily bring in a GEDCOM file to make my Family Tree. But when they did the latest software update, I ran into some problems. The Support Group told me to wait for the end-of-the-month update and try again, and to export another GEDCOM file. But even after all that, they still haven't fixed the bug with my Family Tree, and the IT Department doesn't know when it'll be sorted out.
DNA testing purchase
The website is quite pricey, but it does offer Y-DNA and mtDNA testing. It's a bit slow and not very easy to get around, so it could definitely use some upgrades to make it more user-friendly. However, I found that my autosomal ethnicity results were pretty spot-on and matched up well with my family tree. I also really liked the family tree layout and being able to see other people's family trees that have been publicly shared. It's a nice added bonus!
DNA test kit
This DNA test kit took way too long to process, and the website was super confusing to use. I tried reaching out to customer service multiple times, but they just kept ignoring me. What a waste of money, eh!
DNA testing service
Their claims just aren't right and I really question the accuracy of their DNA testing. It's pretty obvious that they're not too concerned about making customers happy, all they care about is making a buck. I accidentally placed an order, tried to cancel it right away, and without even asking me, they went ahead and charged me $25.
DNA test purchase
I just bought one of those DNA tests from this company, thinking it would help me learn more about my family history. But when I got the results, I was let down because none of the matches matched up with people on our family tree or from other DNA tests we've done. It's made me question how legit this company and their services really are.
Uploaded raw dna from MyHeritage
After I put in my raw DNA from MyHeritage, I was let down to see that my Scandinavian and Irish roots, which we all know about in my family, didn't come up in the results. Even though it did confirm that my son is indeed my son, the ethnicity match between us was only around 17%, making me doubt how accurate the results are. Honestly, I wouldn't suggest using this service.
Ancestral DNA match purchase
I recently bought an ancestral DNA test hoping to find some long-lost relatives from my dad's side, who used to be in the US Air Force stationed in Germany, and my mom's side, with German roots going back three generations. I was pretty excited about the mix of backgrounds I might find. But when I got my results, I was surprised to see that there were no matches from Central Europe or the US. It was a bummer because I was looking forward to learning more about my family history. The test seemed way off and now I'm not even sure if I can trust the whole thing.
Genetics test
I recently got a DNA test to dig into my family background and was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy and depth of what I found out. Some folks might think it takes too long, but the info you get is priceless for anyone curious about their roots. I definitely suggest springing for a more detailed test like the Y67 to get the most thorough results. It's also worth looking into different platforms to broaden your database and maybe discover more family connections. While mtDNA testing is cool, it might not be as useful as other options. Just be ready for possible do-overs to get more accurate info, 'cause being patient is key when you're exploring your genetic past. And if you'd rather stick with the family stories and legends, there might be a better test for what you're looking for.
DNA ancestry test
Good service for DNA ancestry testing, but the customer service is not the best. They couldn't analyze my mtdna sample and wouldn't give me a refund, telling me to get another sample instead.
DNA test kit
Eh, I bought a DNA test kit and man, I gotta say I'm really let down by the service. The website says it's gonna find matches for my DNA results, but it's been stuck on that step for weeks now. I've reached out to support a bunch of times but they never get back to me. The chat feature on the site ain't working right either, so I can't even get ahold of anyone for help. I even asked them to delete my account and still, radio silence. Honestly, this whole thing has been so frustrating and I'm starting to think this service is just a big ol' scam, eh.
DNA test purchase
I just bought one of those DNA tests from a genetics company to find out more about where I come from. I was super pumped at first, but man, I was let down by the results. They kept changing every time there was an update and didn't seem to match up. It got me thinking about how accurate all that info really is.
Ancestry test
This company is a total scam. The results were confusing and made no sense, making me feel like I wasted my money. Not only did I have to wait forever for the results, but then they kept asking for more money to get more information that should have been included from the start. It seems like they wanted to trick their customers and get as much money as possible. Save your money and choose a company that understands your ancestry, like Living DNA. Believe me, you'd be better off using your cash as toilet paper. It's a complete joke.
mtDNA test
I made a mistake by buying the mtDNA test, thinking it would give me some cool info but it was totally useless. After waiting forever and paying a bunch of money, all I got was a bunch of random codes that didn't tell me anything new. I already knew where my ancestors came from, but this test didn't give me any details on how much of my blood is European, Indian, American, or African. So yeah, don't waste your money on this test.
DNA test purchase
What's the deal with this company? Their DNA tests feel so outdated. They're using ancient technology for their Y-Chrom and Mito-DNA tests. It seems like they care more about the medical field than actually helping people with their ancestry. They really need to catch up with the times!
