Mixed bag — access failed, support helped

On-site

they shuffled us to another room, told us the booking didn't pass on my disability, made me wheel outside in the rain to the "internal" spa — which clearly wasn't wheelchair-friendly. I complained on site; staff were apologetic but confused (it was, well, messy). I was skeptical and braced for a fight, but spaseekers replied that evening, admitted the communication broke down, and offered a partial refund plus credit for a future stay. That helped — I felt heard and the customer service moved things along. Still, delivery of accurate accessibility info failed, and I wouldn't recommend without double-checking. Overall, annoyed then a bit satisfied.

Not the spa weekend we pictured

On-site

noisy kids, barely any loungers (I counted seven, and they were all taken), and the steam room wasn’t working. The lack of a jacuzzi hit harder than I expected — it’s that small detail that makes a spa feel like, well, a spa. The sauna was tiny, the pool crowded, so there wasn’t much chance to chill out. Staff were nice though, genuinely friendly, and the treatment room was actually lovely — that part redeemed the day a bit. We ate in the restaurant and the food was surprisingly good, which helped calm the irritation. The room was fine, if you don’t mind looking out at a car park (photos do make it look better). When I complained to the organiser afterwards, getting a 7% discount on a future stay felt a bit tone-deaf; like, thanks, but that doesn’t fix the missing hot tub. Overall I went from sceptical to a tiny bit satisfied thanks to the therapists and dinner, but still disappointed because the main reason we went — full-on spa downtime — just wasn’t there. If you’re after proper spa vibes, check before you book.
