Halfway sold, pleasantly surprised

Service

I was halfway through a chaotic move when my old mattress gave out and my back started screaming. I almost didn't call them — had a bad booking mess before — but their reps were calm, sorted the paperwork and promised a delivery window. They actually showed up on time, two friendly folks who set it up and checked the fit. Customer service kept me posted, no drama, and my back's thanking me.

Friend's tip paid off

Communication

Totally honest, I almost didn't book — I worried an agent would be pushy or pricey. A friend on a local Facebook group suggested Avoya, so I messaged them and got Abbey. She answered emails and calls quickly, was friendly and just plain real. There was a hiccup with our flights — Abbey was upfront about it and kept pushing to sort it until we said the new plan was fine. The little restaurant tips she gave were a pleasant surprise. I'll use them again.

Jill stuck with it

Price

she dug up a cheaper fare than I had seen online, which covered the hassle. I told my sister about Jill already. Overall honest, helpful and patient, some bumps but solid so far.

Made the cruise easy

Service

I’ll definitely book with Robyn again — she made our New Year’s family cruise stress-free. We’re a big, messy crew (12 of us, five cabins) and I was dreading coordinating everything while juggling work and kids. Robyn handled the bookings, chased down excursions when the Royal Caribbean site froze, and basically checked off every item for me. She answered quickly, felt like she was on call at all hours, and was professional without being stiff. It saved me time in my busy life and honestly felt like having a competent friend do the heavy lifting. Really glad it worked out.

Coast-to-coast disappointment

Communication

I won't book through Sue Collins again. She promised a $500 onboard credit and then (despite our emailed proof) it disappeared — felt like being gaslit by contract terms. Emails were messy and inconsistent, calls rarely picked up (and when they were, no follow-through), and simple things like spelling our names right? Nope. Oddly, our friends who booked the same cruise ran into the same muddle, so it wasn't a one-off. I've used other agencies that actually answer and fix stuff, so this felt worse in comparison. There's a bit of goodwill left, sure, but honestly not worth the hassle — I won't risk them for future trips.

Avoya refused to transfer my booking — buyer beware

Changes

Avoya wouldn’t move my deposit or reservation, so I lost $450 and I’m pretty frustrated. I’m usually quiet about reviews but this mattered enough to speak up. I first heard about this agent through friends — they found Rainer and I went along with them, even though I normally book elsewhere. After a few calls I put down the non‑refundable deposit because I was juggling another trip for my mom’s birthday that overlaps the same dates. The agent told me rebooking was possible if it stayed on a Celebrity cruise and that I’d only lose $100. Fine, I accepted that — but I didn’t realise I had to rebook through Avoya specifically. Long story short, my dad wanted me to use our regular agent, so I put a hold with someone I’ve used before. That agent said transferring the booking and deposit over within 30 days was routine. Apparently not. Avoya flat out refused to transfer anything to the other agency, despite the 30‑day window and assurances from the new agent. So now I’m choosing to forfeit the money rather than hand the booking back to Avoya. It’s disappointing and honestly unprofessional. On the plus side, my trusted agent is helping me secure some onboard credit so it’s not a total loss, but that’s small consolation. If you’re thinking of booking through Avoya and might need flexibility or to switch agencies, be careful — don’t assume transfers are straightforward. I’m annoyed but mostly just disappointed; could’ve been handled better, plain and simple.
