Auto-renew headache
Auto-renew headache
ComplaintsI bought it with nagging doubt about auto-pay; later, when I asked for a refund they demanded another card because "original charge can't be refunded." I refused. Felt like a scam, so I cancelled and switched to someone else — still annoyed, but happier now for ditching the hassle.

Complaintshow do you protect a device that doesn't exist? Functionally the app did its job when installed, low performance hit, decent scans. But the billing/renewal practice is sloppy, so I'm rethinking renewing.
Lifetime protection purchase

ComplaintsI got this protection for my computer last year and thought everything was fine until a hacker got in without me knowing. I called my bank and a hacker intercepted the call asking for my banking info. Scary stuff! Thankfully, I didn't give them much, but I was really scared. Webroot fixed up my computer but then tried to hold my computer's programming ransom for a ton of money. I didn't pay up, and luckily my computer is still working, but now I don't trust them anymore.
Renewed by accident

ComplaintsSo, y'know, I got this email saying I gotta renew my stuff, so I did. But then later, I realized I used a different email, and I already had a 3-year package. Then I got another email to renew and found out I had two accounts! I tried to get a refund for the extra year they made me buy, but they said no 'cause it was over 70 days already. Like, how was I supposed to know I didn't need to renew, eh?

ComplaintsI just found out that someone tried to take almost $1000 from my bank account without my permission. It was for some internet security thing I didn't know about at all. That seems so sketchy and scammy. I'm really upset about this and want to caution others to be careful.
My dad's account auto-renewal
My dad's account auto-renewal
ComplaintsMy dad's account got charged for auto-renewal without permission, eh! When I tried calling them, I couldn't get through without an account number, so I had to email them, eh. No surprise, they didn't reply (big shocker). My dad has dementia, eh, and he definitely didn't say yes to this charge, eh. Gotta sort it out with the bank now, eh.
Renewal mishap

ComplaintsI had a problem with my account renewal recently. They charged me the wrong amount and then locked me out. I tried calling and emailing customer service a bunch of times, but nobody got back to me. It's really annoying and frustrating when they don't communicate or help out. I decided to cancel the auto-renewal, but they still charged me for another month. It's not cool that they're not being clear or following through. Just a heads up, watch out for this company's sketchy practices.
