Pop-ups that won't quit

App & Portal

Late night, trying to finish a work report, a big ad suddenly covered a quarter of my screen. I got this because I had a malware scare earlier and needed antivirus for working from home. The pop‑ups kept coming and the only reliable fix was rebooting the device. I tried support — their system claims I have an account I never made, login just says "oops, something went wrong." Eventually a rep (surprisingly) disabled the nags, but getting help was slow and messy.

Delivery saved the day, support took a while

Follow-up

things show up when they say they will and my refund finally processed. The customer help though... chat disappears mid-convo and tickets can sit for days, so be ready to follow up. Eventually a rep (big thanks to Jaspreet) pushed my refund through and the people I did reach were polite and helpful, even if they keep nudging upgrades. It's not flawless and it feels a bit pricey, but for daily use it does the job — you just might need patience to get proper support.

Locked but sorted

App & Portal

it ended up working — I got back in and set up face unlock — but the app almost left me stranded overseas, so buyer beware. I needed a password manager for work travel because I was tired of reused passwords and scribbled notes. Mid-trip the app started failing at login, insisting on SMS verification only, which didn’t play nice with my foreign SIM. I even tried my home SIM later and still got no code. There was no clear, quick support route to reach, which made things worse; for a bit I was completely locked out of all my credentials and had to improvise. Then, overnight, access returned. A facial recognition option showed up and I promptly switched to it, which fixed my immediate problem. I don’t know if support intervened or an update rolled back, but the resolution worked. I’m wary and will keep testing the new flow, but for now it’s usable and better than stuck with nothing.

Minor button, major headache

Communication

support kept sending instructions about cancelling paid auto-renewals, which made no sense since I'm on a trial and never paid. I had to explain the same simple issue multiple times. They asked for extra info and I sent everything they requested except my phone number, but answers kept missing the point. It’s not dramatic, just a lot of wasted time and feeling like the support people weren't reading carefully. So yeah, my pre-purchase doubts about responsiveness weren't eased. Friendly company vibe, but I'm not confident enough to buy. Maybe others get better luck.

Solid protection, messy billing

Complaints

I actually like the feel of the software — lightweight, not in your face, and it does what it’s supposed to do on my laptop and phone. It’s easy to use and I don’t notice any slowdowns, which is why I stuck with it. That said, the billing side was a hassle. They renewed me about a month early without telling me, and somehow I ended up double-covered for four months this year — literally paying twice for the same coverage. It felt sloppy, like there’s no flag in their system to stop overlap. I waited a few days for a reply to my email and heard nothing; other folks on forums say the same. So now I’m in a PayPal dispute and thinking of calling my bank’s fraud team if needed. I’m still recommending the product for everyday protection because it works, but be careful and check your statements. If they cleaned up communications and billing alerts, this would be a no-brainer. As is, good product, frustrating admin — worth trying, just watch your renewal dates.

Quick and effective virus protection

Quality

This antivirus software is without a doubt the best I've ever used, eh? I was dealing with some pesky viruses causing all sorts of problems on my computer, but this software cleaned and fixed everything in no time. It's fast, efficient, and really gets the job done, eh? I highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch virus protection, for sure.

My experience with the customer service

Communication

Man, I had the worst time trying to get help from customer service. It was impossible to reach them, no matter what I did. Plus, there's no email to contact them, which is so frustrating. And the support tool not working was a complete nightmare!

New computer, existing antivirus transfer, lack of customer service

Follow-up

I just got a new computer and had to move my antivirus over. They took the payment from my bank, but I couldn't tell which one I had on my Avira account. I tried to reach customer service, but it was a nightmare. I sent two emails and got nothing back. Then I kept getting the same emails, all with ticket #1495119. Even after I replied and explained, all I got were automatic responses. In the end, I had to cancel, but it felt like such a waste of money. It was quite an experience, just not a pleasant one.

Security Software

Communication

I don't use Twitter or Facebook, but I'm pretty sure you can reach customer service through the website. You'd think so, right?

Antivirus purchase

Timing

Man, I was so pumped to get this antivirus program to keep my computer safe from all the sketchy stuff online. But then when they went to bill me, they couldn't even take the money out! Like, seriously? I signed up at the beginning of the month and they tried to charge me on the 25th. Not cool at all. It was frustrating enough that I had to start a whole new subscription. Who has time for that? Definitely not me. So, I have to give them 3 stars because that billing problem really took away from how awesome their product could have been.

Anti-virus software purchase

Complaints

I just bought anti-virus software from this company, but I had a bad time with their customer service. I tried to get a refund, but they weren't very helpful and didn't want to give me my money back. Just a heads up, be careful when you're buying stuff from this company.

Effective virus protection

Quality

The program works really well. I haven't had any problems with my computer getting viruses or anything like that. But, sometimes it could be easier to figure out what to do, especially for people who are just starting out. For example, I got one of my devices fixed and then my Avira program disappeared, and the Windows virus program was on instead. But, that device was still showing up in my account. It took me a while to figure out how to get the Avira program back on that device, even with some help from your support team.

No more sneaky photo changes

Quality

Before, someone kept messing with my photos in my gallery, but now with this thing, no more problems! Thank you so much!

Quick and Easy Anti-virus

Price

I tried out this antivirus software and was thinking of buying it, but in the end I changed my mind. I don't really like services that make you pay monthly, and those daily annoying reminders to "optimize" my system were driving me crazy. I don't want the software to mess up my computer, so now I'm looking for a different antivirus that works better for me.

Lost passwords nightmare

Reliability

Are you serious? My passwords just disappeared out of nowhere, no warning or anything. And when I ask for help, all I get is some sales pitch or sent to a community forum. Like, really? Are you guys purposely making things hard for us customers? Well, you know what? I quickly switched over to Bitwarden, where my passwords are secure. Goodbye to your unreliable service.

Efficient antivirus software

App & Portal

In today's digital world, there are plenty of threats out there, but thankfully, I haven't had any issues thanks to this awesome antivirus software. It just works quietly in the background, giving me peace of mind. I really like the Identity Assistant feature, it's super helpful. But it's a bummer that the Family subscription only lets you monitor one email address, I need to keep an eye on more than that. The subscription overview layout could be easier to follow too. Also, there's this weird thing with the Prime subscription where the antivirus software says it's not installed, but then when I try to install it, I get a message saying it's already installed.

Free antivirus software

Quality

The antivirus software is really good at keeping your computer safe, but sometimes it can be a bit annoying when I'm trying to fix bugs in the programs I made in Visual Studio. Still, I think it's a good choice for people who just want simple protection without having to pay for it.

Quick purchase, faulty installation

App & Portal

I bought something online not long ago and thought everything was okay until I tried to install it. The installation was a total mess and nothing was working right. I attempted to reach out to customer service through the chat option, but the advice I got was unclear and not helpful at all. Dealing with it was so frustrating.

antivirus software

Reliability

I was trying to update my computer earlier but my antivirus software is being so annoying. Every time I try to update an old program, it just doesn't work properly. Avira is totally ignoring this issue and it is seriously frustrating!

Recent software purchase

Quality

My recent software purchase was actually pretty good. It works well and keeps my device safe. The features it comes with are really useful and do everything I need. Sometimes it can use up a lot of my device's power, but it generally works great. I also like that it fixes any mistakes it makes pretty quickly.
