American Express - Reviews and experiences

I usually make sure to pay my bill on time, but this month the online payment didn't go through. I paid it right away once I realized, but they still hit me with interest charges. I tried calling and chatting with them, but nobody was able to help. It's super frustrating!

I just got an email saying that my credit limit was being cut by a lot right away. I've been with them for over 5 years, always paying on time and using my card for big purchases. It was a surprise and felt really unfair the way they did it.

I recently applied for a credit card and I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with the whole process. Even though my income and credit score were higher than before, my application kept getting put on hold. They asked me for all these extra documents and then out of nowhere, they just closed my account without even telling me why. It feels like they don't really have a clear way of approving people because some folks with shaky incomes get approved, but someone like me who's been responsible with their money gets denied.

And to top it off, I got a letter saying I was in default and they issued a CCJ against me. That was completely not cool, especially when the person I talked to on the phone just said it was standard procedure and not a big deal.
