Adobe - Reviews and experiences

I almost didn't sign up because subscription traps are my pet peeve, but I needed something reliable for quick client mockups and touching up family photos. The app itself is solid — I use it a few times a week for work and personal stuff — but the sign-up experience left me wary. A rep told me I'd have a few free months to decide, which sounded fine, but that turned into being tied into a plan I wasn't ready for. So yeah, my doubts didn't entirely vanish; I still like the software but I feel misled and I check my bill every month now. Not perfect, and the cancellation rules are confusing, but for daily editing it does the job.

I won’t be paying for Adobe again — not after how they handle subscriptions. I first noticed their “student discount” on my university’s software page (it looked like a decent deal) and I even tipped my roommate to grab it for class projects. Turns out that tip didn’t age well. Long story short, the product works fine when it’s running, but the way they slip you into contracts and renewals is what I can’t forgive.

I think the whole yearly monthly subscription thing is kind of tricky. I got sucked in by that free month trial offer, but then I saw that I'd be stuck with a subscription that I really didn't want. It would have been nice if they had been upfront about that before I signed up.
