ComplaintsI decided not to renew my free trial on time, but I still got charged for the service. Even though I contacted my card company and sorted out the payment issue, I'm really disappointed in how this company handled things. This kind of dishonesty is not okay and shouldn't be accepted. Ancestry should really think about their partnership with Fold3.
Cancelled subscription
Cancelled subscription
ComplaintsI decided to cancel my subscription with this service not too long ago. I was really bummed to see that I still got charged even though I cancelled during the free trial period. It's super annoying to have to go through the whole process of getting a refund for a subscription that I didn't even want anymore. I also sent an email asking for some clarification, but I haven't heard back from them yet.
Cancelled membership still charged
Cancelled membership still charged
ComplaintsI canceled my membership with them, but they keep charging me every month under a different name, ugh. I've tried emailing and calling them, but they have no record of my account or card. I even checked my ancestry account, but no dice. Now I'm stuck paying for a service I don't even use anymore. The only way out seems to be changing my debit card number, which is such a pain!
Misleading free trial
Misleading free trial
ComplaintsOur experience with the free trial from this service was just awful. My husband signed up for a 7-day trial, but even after cancelling before it ended, they still took a whole year's payment from his account. We're really upset about this, it's so misleading. The website clearly said his membership would end on a specific date, but they charged him for a whole year without asking. We've contacted them to get a refund and an apology, and we're just waiting to see how they sort this out. It's really rubbed us the wrong way and we're not happy with how they've been shady and not upfront about things.

ComplaintsEh, don't even bother with this website, eh. I thought I was just trying out a free trial, but next thing I knew, I was hit with a surprise charge for a full membership. They didn't even ask for my permission, eh. Trying to cancel and get my money back was a total nightmare, let me tell ya. I had to really push and argue to finally get my cash back, and it took way longer than it should have, eh. Their customer service is basically non-existent, and they're not upfront about anything, eh. The info they have is okay, but honestly, it's not worth all the stress and hassle dealing with their sketchy tactics, eh. Do yourself a favour and find a better site for your genealogy research, eh.
