clunky system, slow support. The next day they did get in touch and actually tried to fix it, and that’s the moment I went from fed up to cautiously satisfied. They didn’t fix everything though — I couldn’t change or cancel online, had to redo the booking through a different company, and ended up paying an extra $42.34 with no offer to refund. They sent a new insurance certificate by email, but it looked like it was in Portuguese so I’m not 100% sure I have the same coverage. Emotionally I went from annoyed to a little relieved when they followed up, but there are still gaps. I’ll update this after the car hire is finished, but right now I’d say their outreach was decent; their process and transparency need work.

My rental car experience was alright, but I kinda wish I had just picked up the phone and called instead of using the online chat. It took so long to get my issue sorted out. The service rep seemed overwhelmed with all the chats they were handling at the same time, and I felt sorry for them. It took forever for them to reply to my messages.
