The big issue was after: a crossing charge mix-up caused by a typo on their key fob plate. I paid the Dartford charge using the number on the fob (MJ40ZT) and got a confirmation from the crossing authority, but later Green Motion billed me an extra admin fee because the actual plate had a zero where the fob had an O — yes, slight difference but their provided info was confusing. They told me it was my responsibility to check the rental agreement; they wouldn’t waive the £68 admin fee even with proof the toll was paid. There were also small, unclear damage claims on return — nothing dramatic, but recurring reports across reviews make me think it’s not a one-off. So, mild praise: the car was fine, staff were mostly nice, and the price looked good up front. But be realistic: expect waits, double-check every plate and every line on the contract, take loads of photos, and keep every confirmation email. I’m glad the trip wasn’t ruined, and grateful it all mostly worked out, but I left feeling frustrated and out a bit of money — could’ve been smoothed over with better communication and a bit more accountability.
