Late pickup, later charge — sketchy process
Late pickup, later charge — sketchy process
ComplaintsWe picked the car up late on a Friday and, honestly, it felt like a handoff in the dark. I took pictures as soon as we got the keys because the bodywork was already a mess — dents, scratches, the whole thing. Nobody walked the car with us, nobody pointed anything out, they just handed over the keys and that was that. We drove it to a secure driveway in Murcia and left it parked there until Sunday afternoon; again, no one from the company bothered to inspect it when we dropped the keys off. A week after returning home we see a charge of over €200 for damage that we did not cause. That part is what really bugs me. I kept the timestamps on my photos and tried to deal with Centauro but the back-and-forth went nowhere — they basically dismissed our evidence. What stood out most was the absence of a proper inspection at pick-up and drop-off; it felt like a loophole waiting to be used. I’m mildly impressed that the booking and pickup were quick, and the car itself ran fine, that I’ll say. But the way they handle damage claims makes me wary. If you rent from them, take lots of time-stamped photos, insist on a signed inspection sheet, and email yourself copies — that might save you a headache. I won’t be using them again, and I’d tell others to be careful or consider a different company that does visual checks with customers present.

Complaintsthe car had plastic caps, not alloy rims. I sent the photos. I explained. They sent their policy text back. It felt like arguing with a very patient robot. My bank refunded me once — looked promising — and then Centauro simply took the money back. I kept thinking maybe I missed something. Maybe. But it still stinks. The charge seems inflated for a small cap and an hour of labour. They wouldn’t provide a detailed damage report or proper invoices. So my doubts before renting? They didn’t go away. If anything they grew. Small relief: the car itself was fine to drive, handled my aching back, and got me through the move. But dealing with the aftercare? Not good. Take lots of pictures, insist on paperwork, and maybe pay the insurance if you want peace of mind. I won’t rush back.
