Centauro Rent a Car - Reviews and experiences

50 pm, exhausted family of five, and thought the car from my prebooking would be waiting. I’ve rented from them before, so I assumed it’d be straightforward. Nope. Turns out the desk wouldn’t hand over the keys because I’d used a debit card to pay — no credit card, no car. There was nothing on the website warning about that, so that was a surprise and pretty frustrating. We wasted time sorting it out and by the time we knew for sure it was a no-go it was after 8, kids getting cranky, you know the drill. Staff did say we’d get a full refund (that part was handled quickly, at least), and one person pointed us toward a competitor, which felt like being pushed off rather than helped. In the end we took the subway into the city and tried to laugh it off, but it’s not the way you want a trip to start. Small consolation: refund came through fast. Big downside: won’t risk renting from them again, don’t want a repeat.
