VAT mess finally sorted
VAT mess finally sorted
Returns & RefundsI was halfway through unpacking in my new condo when I realized the VAT issue was still open. I’d ordered the lamp because my back was killing me after the move and I needed proper lighting and a spot to rest. At first it was a mess — paperwork bounced between people, they asked for proof, then said it couldn’t be done. I sent the bill of lading and even asked them to hand it to our export courier. The point I knew it was going to be okay was when someone came back and confirmed the refund would go through. So yeah, glad it ended up being sorted. Could’ve been smoother though.
Almost didn't buy these
Almost didn't buy these
CommunicationFunny thing — I almost didn't buy them. I saw the comforters and sheets in the Miami store and a friend had recommended the brand, so I gave it a shot even though I was a bit wary about the price and pockets of fabric that looked thinner online. I was away in Paris when they arrived and my housekeeper sent a photo — one of the sheets had a noticeable stain. I messaged customer service through the website right away but basically got the canned follow-ups and then silence. We tried to spot-clean it here but couldn't get it out, and eventually she tossed that sheet. The rest of the set is actually fine — the comforter feels cosy, the fabric sleeps well — so it's not a total loss. Still, the lack of a real response from support left a sour taste. I've bought from them for years, back when they were at Barneys, so this was unexpected. Would I buy again? Maybe, but not without checking the item in person next time and being more cautious.

Servicecrew called ahead, were careful carrying things in, and set everything up where I wanted it. A small scuff showed up on one corner — annoying, sure — but customer service handled it promptly: photo, quick approval for a repair, and a follow-up call to make sure the fix was fine. That shifted my whole attitude from "ah, here we go" to actually relieved. Price-wise it’s not cheap, but you feel the design and the team behind it. Overall I’m happy — delivery and the people made the difference. Would I buy again? Yes, and I’d recommend being patient with the process; they’ll make it right if something goes sideways.

ProductMy friend texted me a link and said “you need this” so of course I clicked. The online photos made the Wellington look like a mellow, deep tone. In real life it arrived a lot brighter — almost a shout of orange. I was annoyed. I called customer service. The rep was polite but the manager wasn’t in until Monday. Classic. I braced for a fight about returns that their policy already makes awkward. Then I set the thing up anyway, mostly to get it out of the way. I put my old lamp and a couple of plants on it. And then — weirdly — it started to work. The colour bounced off the wall in a way the picture never hinted at. Not perfect. The finish has a tiny scuff on one corner and the delivery box was dented. But in that moment, arranging the stuff and seeing how the room warmed up, I felt satisfied. It’s loud but cheerful. Would I buy it again knowing the colour risk? Maybe. I’d still tell people to check in person or ask for a recent photo from the store first. Saves the surprise.
Nice look, poor mechanics and worse follow-up

Serviceit wouldn’t settle all the way unless you pushed it just so, and over time that “careful nudge” turned into a full-on jam. A tech came out once and fiddled a bit — it helped a tiny bit but never fixed it. Then, months later, the drawer stopped closing properly at all. I reached out to customer service and it went downhill fast: they first suggested I get a local repair, then said their warranty didn’t cover it (even though their site mentions multi-year coverage for mechanical parts). After I pointed that out they implied the problem was my doing, which felt dismissive. We exchanged a few emails, then radio silence. I even asked to escalate to legal and heard nothing back. So, mixed feelings — it looks great and the build feels heavy, but using it day-to-day is a hassle and the aftercare is disappointing. If you value looks over function, fine, but if you want something that keeps working without a fight, I’d be cautious.
