Almost fixed, but what a mess

Delivery

it ended okay — I got a refund — but getting there was a real chore and honestly kind of stressful. I needed a new washing machine because my old one died at the worst time (three kids, piles of laundry, and my back acting up) so I relied on delivery and thought, fine, this will be simple. Spoiler: it wasn’t. Costway shipped with a delivery partner called Seel. The washer arrived damaged. Like, dents and something rattling inside. I paid the small delivery insurance fee ($8.09) thinking that would cover me, only to be told by Seel that based on the pics I didn’t qualify for a replacement. Then they asked me to smash the unit myself and send photos of the destroyed interior before they’d consider sending a new one. Yep, they actually asked that. I was annoyed, mostly because I can’t exactly haul a huge, broken washer into pieces — hello, bad back — and because it felt like they were avoiding responsibility. I took a bunch of photos, filed complaints, and after more back-and-forth a supervisor at Costway named Ron stepped in and actually did what he promised: he sorted the refund. That was a relief and I appreciate that — so shout-out to him. Still, the delivery experience left a bad taste: rude requests, dodging responsibility, and a lot of wasted time. If you’re picking a vendor, double-check who’s delivering. I’d probably order from Costway again only if I knew a different delivery company was used, but I’d be wary of Seel. Emotionally I went from furious to relieved — not exactly a fun roller coaster.

The quality of the product I got was amazing, it went above what I was expecting and I'm really happy with it. But the whole delivery situation was a mess. I had asked them specifically not to leave the package outside, but they did it anyway. That put my purchase in danger of getting stolen, which was a total pain. Hopefully, Costway can think about giving more choices for deliveries in the future so this doesn't happen again.
