Tired of missing books
Tired of missing books
ReliabilityI won't be ordering from them again — the ordering and delivery process is just too flaky. I placed a three-book order in late November 2023 because I needed one title for a course, and my first impression was... underwhelming: confirmation showed up quickly, but then things got weird. One book never shipped for weeks, and when I reached out to customer service (slow replies, long back-and-forths with other departments) I was left waiting about a week for an answer — only to be told later that the missing copy had finally shipped. No tracking number was ever provided, so I had no idea where it was, which is annoying when you're trying to plan. On the plus side, the two books that did arrive were in solid condition (surprising, actually — I half-expected bent corners). But the recurring hiccups, the lack of tracking, and the sluggish support make this feel amateur for a publisher that charges academic prices. I get that mistakes happen, but the repeat nature of the problems and the friction when fixing them has me switching vendors. Not dramatic, just done. Saving my money and time matters to me.

ReliabilityI bought some books not long ago, but sadly one of them never showed up even though they said it would be in the original delivery. It was a pain trying to get a hold of customer service - took a whole week and loads of emails just to hear back. The lack of communication and how slow they were to answer was super annoying, especially since the books weren't cheap. The whole thing left me feeling pretty let down, so I won't be ordering from them again.
Online purchase - delivery issues
Online purchase - delivery issues
ReliabilityI had a terrible experience with an online purchase recently. I bought something from a company from overseas and got charged unexpected taxes on my credit card. The delivery took way longer than expected, and when I asked about it, I found out that my order was sent back to the warehouse without telling me. I had to send a bunch of emails just to get a replacement order, only to get hit with taxes again when it was redelivered. It was a total nightmare, and I ended up having to pay extra for a package that still didn't have the right address. The whole thing was a disaster from beginning to end.
