PriceI remember being unsure when a buddy sent the app link; bought anyway, hoped it wasn't greedy microtransactions — gameplay's fun, but the paywalls stayed.
Good fun, with a price nudge

PriceEnjoyed it overall, but the pay edge is annoying. I could play Raid for ages without dropping cash, which was a relief at first. Still, eventually you hit a wall if you want to be truly competitive and that's where the wallet whispers loudly. That’s disappointing, yet the gameplay kept me coming back, fun and oddly satisfying. Had worse experiences with other studios who lock everything. I'll try more from them, curious and slightly wary.
Looks polished, feels unfair

PriceI downloaded Mech Arena hoping for a way to unwind after long shifts and to test it for a short clip — I needed something low-effort because my back’s been acting up. The visuals are polished and matches start fast. But the progression is clearly pay-to-win. You face opponents with gear you can’t reach without spending. Matchmaking feels skewed and some glitches make rounds pointless. I recorded several clips and posted feedback, yet support was slow and vague. That paywall grind is the real problem. I kept at it to prove the issues, but I regret the time.

Priceset a firm spending limit or don't start. Customer support was meh and the store layout confusing at times, fwiw.

PriceI picked this up because I needed something low-effort while recovering from a bad back — wanted to zone out a few hours. First few matches felt fine, then it became obvious it's mostly bots run by an AI that paces wins and losses. Feels less like playing people and more like playing a slot machine with a controller. Upgrades eat real money and after couple months some weapons or mechs are basically nerfed into uselessness, so you either keep spending or watch stuff stop working. Gameplay is repetitive, same handful of loadouts over and over, lots of auto behaviours — little skill matters. There are flashes where the maps or effects look neat, so I wasn't bored, but overall it's frustrating and expensive. Wouldn't recommend if you want fair matches or something that rewards time instead of cash.
Slow drip to a thinner wallet

Priceyou get comfortable with $2.99, then $5.99, then $15.99 — it’s designed to scale you into spending more. Events feel artificially stingy during fusion/upgrade windows so you end up buying more shards or materials. I’m not saying don’t play — it did do the trick for my downtime — but be cautious. Track your spending, expect delays sometimes, and don’t rely on support to fix every purchase quickly. A little fun, just don’t let it become a habit that digs into your savings.
Quick heads-up from a regular

Priceif you want to enjoy this game long-term without paying, good luck — it's built around spending. I started messing with it about six months ago during a slow weekend; at first I was sold on the polish — nice visuals, slick menus — and thought it might be something to keep coming back to. That shiny first impression stuck for a little while, but then the constant sales banners, the economy that clearly favours people with credit cards, and the never-ending nudges to buy stuff started to wear me down. The summoning system is the real sore spot: I’ve pulled the same handful of champions multiple times in short order. People call it RNG — yeah, I get randomness — but when every support reply is the same shrug, “it’s RNG,” it feels like being fobbed off. There are bugs too; some small, some annoying, and support replies often read like copy-paste. I filed a couple tickets — got vague replies after weeks, sometimes months, which is frustrating. Still, I kept playing because the combat has actual depth and I stumbled onto a couple of builds that were legitimately fun. I'm honestly kind of relieved it wasn't worse — could be way more predatory — and at least there are moments that feel rewarding. So: play for a bit, see how the monetization and support sit with you, and don't be surprised if you end up tempted to spend just to stay relevant.

Mech Arena is honestly such a disaster of a game. I actually spent some money hoping to have a good time, but I ended up regretting every single penny. It's not just that it's clearly pay-to-win, but the way the progress system works is just all over the place. It's crazy - my buddy, who barely even plays, somehow managed to level up faster than me and our other friend who were really into it.
Getting in touch with support was a total waste of time too. They were no help at all, and didn't seem to care about our concerns. They even tried to pull a fast one on us by lying about changes to the game that we could easily prove weren't true.
Honestly, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this game unless you're into throwing your money and time away on a badly run and totally unfair gaming experience. Just not worth it, eh.
In-game event promotion

PriceWhen I joined the latest in-game event, I was kinda bummed out to see that they were really pushing us to shell out a ton of cash for just one champion. It's not cool to be so heavy-handed with trying to get players to spend big bucks like that. It can really turn people off who just want a fair and balanced gaming experience. They gotta think about how these tactics are gonna affect us players and the game's rep in the long haul.
Gnut fusion event
Gnut fusion event
PriceThe Gnut fusion event is so frustrating and unfair, eh. They make us play this champion chase with way too many points, and then throw in a summoning event right before it. It's like they want us to spend more money and time just to finish the fusion. It's really disappointing to see the game developers being so manipulative, and it's not sitting well with us loyal players, eh.
Game experience and in-game purchases
Game experience and in-game purchases
PriceAfter playing this game for like 3 months, I've been noticing a troubling pattern where it's starting to feel like you gotta pay to win. The costs for stuff like shards and tomes in the game are crazy high and honestly, not really worth it. On top of that, there's no way to convert currencies, so players using different ones end up getting ripped off. And don't even get me started on the constant server problems and downtime - it just makes playing even more frustrating.
Hundreds wasted
Hundreds wasted
PriceWhat a waste of money, eh?! I spent hundreds on this game for basically nothing in return. The gameplay is way too hard, like nearly impossible to move forward unless you're ready to spend a ton of money. It's just a big joke, eh.
