    French language course

The French language course content is awesome, but the software is really lacking. It keeps freezing, crashing, the volume cuts out, and the answers don't always match the questions. As someone who knows a bit about software, I'd be embarrassed if I made something with so many issues. And to top it off, the company doesn't seem to care about fixing the bugs. It's a shame because the course material is actually really good.

    Yearly subscription auto-renewed, Japanese learning

So, I was just doing my thing when I realized my subscription got renewed without me knowing! My phone broke, so I couldn't cancel it easily. They didn't even send me an email to let me know. And when I was using the app, the Japanese part was going alright until they threw all these kanji at me that I had no clue about! It was too tough, so I ended up giving up after a few weeks. Maybe if I was learning a different language, it would've been easier, but I really wanted to learn Japanese. But hey, they did end up giving me a refund, so I'll give them 3 stars.

    Subscription refund for community-made courses

I was so ticked off when I heard that Memrise was getting rid of all the courses made by the community. Those were the ones I liked the most! I had even splurged on a forever subscription just so I could access them offline. But then they went ahead and removed them. Ugh! So, I contacted customer service and told them how bummed out I was, and surprisingly, they refunded all the money I had spent on that subscription. I was thrilled that they did that for me. It's great to know that they have a fair policy in place.

    Annual subscription auto-renewal

Seriously, who renews something without giving the heads up to the customer first? I had no idea my subscription was automatically renewing every year, and that really irked me. And when I wanted to stop the auto-renewal, it was a real pain trying to figure out how to do it. They should at least send me a heads up before charging me again next year. Come on, have some consideration for your customers!

    Language learning tool

I've been using this language learning tool for a while now and it's been a great way to expand my vocabulary in other languages. I really like how the platform has word lists for all levels and lets you customize your learning. One of the best things is the Memrise algorithm that helps you remember words long-term through spaced revision. It's also handy that you can make your own lists and import them from spreadsheets. I started using it on my computer but I've found it's even easier to use on my android and IOS devices. It's more convenient for using it every day.
