Membership concerns
They never listen to what we want as customers. They keep making changes that make things worse, like getting rid of the mute button and making the site look ugly. It used to be really cool, but now it's just a bad copy of another language learning site. I'm not even sure if the community courses will be around for much longer. I pay for this site and I'm really disappointed with how it's going downhill.
Language learning app experience
I've been using this language learning app for years and it's been really helpful for improving my skills. But I'm not impressed with the recent updates that moved the community lessons to a new online platform. The new platform doesn't seem as good as the old one, and the AI learning trial only had a few lessons, so I didn't learn anything new after renewing my subscription in January. Plus, the community courses missing sound is a big downside.
Language learning app membership renewal
I've been using this language learning app for a while now, and I just had to renew my membership. I really appreciated the help it gave me before, but I was pretty surprised and bummed to see they raised the price a lot for this year. Going from 25 euros a year to 120 euros is a big jump and kind of feels like they're just adding more costs. And then, after checking out what other users were saying, I'm a bit worried about the app updates in the future. It seems like I might end up having a similar not-so-great experience like I did with another language learning app.
Flashcard application upgrade
I just upgraded my flashcard app to the paid version and honestly, I'm feeling a bit torn about it. The user experience has definitely gotten better ever since I made the switch during the Black Friday sale. But, I gotta say, I'm kinda disappointed with the French learning content. It's not bad, but it's also not as good as I was hoping based on all the rave reviews I heard. The real standout feature is how you can customize your own study materials on the app, making it super personalized for your learning style.
Subscription cancellation
I'm really upset with the service I got from this company. The app is just awful, and on top of that, they wouldn't cancel my subscription when I asked. They even took money from me without asking first, so I had to deal with a bunch of problems to get my money back through PayPal. It's totally not cool, and I'd recommend avoiding this company to anyone.
Lifetime membership purchase
I was so excited when I decided to go for the Lifetime membership, thinking I would get access to everything forever. But lo and behold, just a few weeks after I bought it, they went ahead and changed the whole platform on me. Now it's basically useless. Feels like a bait-and-switch if you ask me, and honestly, I'm super let down by the service.
New learning software
I really don't like the new software. I preferred the old one because it was much better. The new software feels like a game and it's taking me a lot longer to pick up new words now. The AI conversations are so all over the place, they don't even match my skill level. It's pretty useless and not helping me at all. I wish they stuck with the old software - it was way more practical and simpler to learn from.
Learning new language with video recorded natives
Memrise is a decent spot to pick up new languages, but there are a few things that bug me. Going through those long sentences for practice gets dull real quick, I'd much rather focus on learning individual words. And once you reach those higher levels, the point system starts to seem a bit wonky.

I used to really enjoy using this language learning app because it was awesome for my brain and for my introverted personality. But now they're taking away community courses and getting rid of things that made it unique. It feels like they don't care about us anymore. Instead of helping us learn new languages, they want us to watch TikTok videos and talk to AI chatbots. Come on, Memrise! Why do you have to mess with a good thing?

It's a fantastic addition to traditional learning methods because it gives you the chance to chat with native speakers directly, which is super important for learning a language. Repeating words and phrases is key in helping users remember and learn new stuff. I think starting with this platform is a must for anyone who wants to get better at a language. The language learning platform started off strong, but lately it's been going downhill. The new AI features have taken over, making popular features less important and ignoring user problems. The lack of communication with the community is concerning, especially with rumors of job cuts going around. Deleting the community forums without warning really hurt users who lost important content. The AI voices are okay, but they can't beat real human voices. In general, the service is getting worse, and it looks like Memrise cares more about money than making users happy. I hope they can change their ways and listen to user feedback before it's too late.

I started using the language learning platform back in 2013 to study Japanese and other languages. It was a great tool to support my studies, offering flexibility and a variety of community courses. It wasn't perfect, but it served its purpose well. However, recent changes have left me disappointed and frustrated. The decision to move the Community Courses to a different website and discontinue them by the end of the year has really turned me off. Why invest time and effort into something that is going to vanish soon? It feels like a waste of energy. I've already started exploring other options like Anki, even though I used to prefer Memrise. The lifetime subscription I purchased now seems like a foolish investment, and I regret spending my money on it.
Lifetime product purchase
I purchased this product that claimed it would last a lifetime, but they ended up changing it after only a year! Can you believe that? And on top of that, they refused to give me a refund. It's totally unfair and it seems like they're just playing games with me. I mean, seriously, I had faith in them and now I feel let down. It's really disappointing that they would treat their customers like this.
Language-learning app subscription
I'm really bummed out about the changes the company made recently. They said they completely reprogrammed the app, but they took away important features like making your own "Community" courses in the app and being able to use it offline. People who bought a lifetime license already paid for these features. The good reviews seem to be talking about the old version of the app, and I don't think I'd want to shell out money for the new version. I'm starting to worry they might get rid of Community courses altogether in the future. I've totally lost faith in this provider.
Language learning course
This language learning course was going pretty well at the beginning with nicely organized lessons that were helping me improve bit by bit. But then, out of nowhere, my access got cut off and things took a turn for the worse. Now, the courses are all made by users and the quality has really gone downhill. It seems like someone in charge decided to change everything all of a sudden, and now it's just a disaster. The lessons are not great, they're unorganized and sloppy, making learners like me feel annoyed and stuck.
Lost all my courses
Oh my goodness, I was so pumped using this app to learn interesting things about Italian regions and stuff. But then out of nowhere, all my progress was wiped out in an instant. I mistakenly tapped on a huge button and like magic, my courses disappeared. No heads up, no explanation. It's as if all my effort never even happened. That's really not cool, buddy.
Community courses for my students
The website was great for finding courses before, but now it's all messed up. I can't even use the app to access the community courses anymore, which isn't fair. They said it would happen later, but it happened early, and now I'm stuck without my courses. It's so frustrating!
German courses
I really enjoy using Memrise to learn languages! It's so much better than Duolingo. I've completed five German courses and the option to learn with natives is incredible. The interface is simple and user-friendly, making me feel like I'm making real progress in my learning journey.
Cancelled Memrise subscription
I ended up cancelling my Memrise subscription back in August on the 28th cause I wasn't using it anymore. But then, surprise surprise, Memrise actually went ahead and charged me on October 10th, even though I hadn't been using my account since August. Now I gotta go through the hassle of getting a refund from them. Not cool at all, Memrise!
Languages course
Memrise is so awesome because you can learn about everything from languages to geography, history, math, and a whole lot more. There's over 100 languages to pick from, and the best part is, it won't cost you a thing! The only thing is, I've noticed that my geography courses aren't showing up on my phone like they do on my computer. Do you know why that is?
