Language learning platform
Language learning platform
CommunicationThe language learning platform started off strong, but lately it's been going downhill. The new AI features have taken over, making popular features less important and ignoring user problems. The lack of communication with the community is concerning, especially with rumors of job cuts going around. Deleting the community forums without warning really hurt users who lost important content. The AI voices are okay, but they can't beat real human voices. In general, the service is getting worse, and it looks like Memrise cares more about money than making users happy. I hope they can change their ways and listen to user feedback before it's too late.
Yearly subscription auto-renewed, Japanese learning
Yearly subscription auto-renewed, Japanese learning
CommunicationSo, I was just doing my thing when I realized my subscription got renewed without me knowing! My phone broke, so I couldn't cancel it easily. They didn't even send me an email to let me know. And when I was using the app, the Japanese part was going alright until they threw all these kanji at me that I had no clue about! It was too tough, so I ended up giving up after a few weeks. Maybe if I was learning a different language, it would've been easier, but I really wanted to learn Japanese. But hey, they did end up giving me a refund, so I'll give them 3 stars.
Annual subscription auto-renewal
Annual subscription auto-renewal
CommunicationSeriously, who renews something without giving the heads up to the customer first? I had no idea my subscription was automatically renewing every year, and that really irked me. And when I wanted to stop the auto-renewal, it was a real pain trying to figure out how to do it. They should at least send me a heads up before charging me again next year. Come on, have some consideration for your customers!
