DNA Test Results
DNA Test Results
ReliabilityMy DNA test results from this company were so different from another test I did before. Even though I already knew where my family comes from, the results didn't line up. The only relatives that appeared were the ones I added myself into the system. All in all, I was pretty let down by the whole thing.
DNA ethnicity accuracy
DNA ethnicity accuracy
ReliabilityI was pretty happy with how my DNA test results showed my ethnicity - it matched up well with what I already knew about my family background. But I was kinda bummed out that the DNA service didn't give me more family matches. I've spent a long time digging into my family history, trying to piece together the puzzle with all the different spellings and adoption stuff. I was really hoping the DNA test would give me some new leads or connections to help me fill in the blanks in my family tree. Sadly, for me, paying for the premium features wasn't worth it. Some of the matches it gave me didn't even turn out to be related by blood. I was expecting more cool family history stuff from the DNA test, but I ended up feeling disappointed by the lack of meaningful connections and info I got out of it.
DNA Ancestry Kit
DNA Ancestry Kit
ReliabilityMy experience with the DNA Ancestry Kit was pretty good overall, but I do have some concerns about how accurate it is. My spouse and I were hoping to discover some Native American roots in our DNA, but surprisingly, we didn't see any of that in our results. This has made us wonder how reliable the testing really is. It's possible that our family stories were off, or maybe the kit has a hard time pinpointing the specific genetic markers for Native American ancestry. Despite this uncertainty, the reports gave us some cool insights into our genetics and family ties. The interface was easy to use, letting us dive into different parts of our DNA. The historical info and migration details in the analysis were super interesting and showed us just how diverse our ancestors' backgrounds really are.
About ancestry
Ancestry is an American genealogy company that provides individuals with resources to trace their family history and genetic lineage.
