Hotel Chocolat - Reviews and experiences

I recently got a really great gift from this place, but the delivery was a disaster. Even though I paid extra for fast delivery and gave the right address, the gift was delivered to me instead of the right person. When I called to ask about the mistake, I was just told that it happens sometimes, which wasn't a helpful response. They suggested I refuse the delivery and get it sent again for free with next day delivery, but I couldn't because I wasn't home at the time. Instead, they told me to call and order next time so someone could help me, which left me feeling frustrated and annoyed. Now I have to send the gift myself and pay more for delivery. The gift itself was great, but the delivery experience really let me down.

I recently ordered some chocolates from this store and I was really happy with how good they tasted! They were top-notch quality, just like I always expect from this company. But, I was pretty let down by the delivery service from the courier. The delivery person didn't even ring the doorbell when they got here. They just chucked the box of chocolates behind my garbage cans and then took off, leaving my front gate wide open. That kind of careless delivery is not cool and it definitely doesn't make the shopping experience look good.

I absolutely love the chocolates I bought - they are so delicious. But I had a bit of a rough time with the delivery. I paid extra to have them sent over for my daughter Sophie's birthday, but Royal Mail dropped the ball and didn't deliver them on time. I was home all day waiting, and they didn't even try to deliver or leave a note. I had to reschedule for Saturday, but they ended up bringing them today instead. Luckily, someone was home this time, but I was still a bit disappointed.

The dispatch and delivery were so fast, and they kept us in the loop the whole time. The dark chocolate egg was so thick and packed with delicious chocolate treats inside, it tasted amazing and looked so fancy. The tray of chocolate quail eggs for our anniversary night was a lovely touch, but I don't know if I want to share them. All in all, the service and product from this place were top-notch.
