I was on the fence about prepaying for a whole-house filter and the install — seemed like a lot to hand over up front — and that worry stuck with me. The plumber showed up and told me they only install on the hot water side unless I paid another $1,100, on top of the $800 install fee I already paid. I’d never heard of that, so I pushed back and got brushed off with “you don’t know plumbing” — not great. I phoned the company a bunch of times (seven, I think) and was told twice a supervisor would call me back; surprise, no one did. I even stopped payment on the replacement filters because nothing was moving and then they called asking for another method. Meanwhile I started seeing white minerals in the tap water and that made me more anxious. I sent an email asking legal to contact me because I was considering small claims. Then, on 2025-05-20, the installer from Rebel Plumbing came out and actually sorted it. He explained the hookup isolated the kitchen sink but the rest of the house was fine, and he just swapped two tanks — job done. Pleasantly surprised how quickly Rebel fixed it. So yeah, still annoyed at the company’s customer service and the surprise extra cost, but the on-site fix was solid and my daily kitchen use is back to normal.

I recently contacted someone to ask about the Rhino system and I wanted to get more details than what was on the website. Unfortunately, I spoke to two people who gave me different information, avoided answering my questions, and argued with me when I pointed out the inconsistencies. They were really rude and dismissive, so it made me doubt the service quality a lot. I ended up deciding not to buy the product.
