I panicked for a bit, spent an hour figuring out options, but to my surprise the desk found me a similar car instead of leaving me stranded. They also gave a small credit for the trouble after a polite phone call. Not perfect — I still lost time and would’ve liked clearer notice — but I’m honestly relieved it didn’t ruin the trip. Tip: call the rental to confirm before you fly. Glad it worked out in the end.
