Ski trip that finally clicked
Ski trip that finally clicked
ServiceWe arrived tired and a bit skeptical — had a rough group trip once before where nothing showed on time. The moment I knew we were in good hands was when our instructor walked into the chalet with our skis and a smile, like he’d been expecting us forever. After that it was smooth. Transfers, passes, even gear fit like a glove. Little things mattered. I’m genuinely relieved and grateful; would book again without drama, no last-minute stress.
Worth every run
Worth every run
Overallmy husband found people to push himself with on harder runs while I happily stuck to easier blues and still had plenty of fun. Meals were relaxed and actually good, and the hot springs at the end felt like proper reward. Not perfect — a couple of mornings were a touch rushed and one boot needed an extra tweak — but nothing that spoiled it. If you want lots of skiing without the hassle, go for it. Small tip: ask them to double-check boot fit and bring an extra layer.

Servicego if you can. I almost didn’t — saw a buddy’s photos on Instagram and was like “yeah, maybe,” but I’m really glad I booked. We did a week in the Rockies with a small group and the guide, Alex, kept things light with dumb jokes and little stories that somehow made the hikes feel shorter. I was skeptical about the gear and food (canned beans, right?), but the sleeping bag I rented actually kept me warm even on those chilly nights, and meals were way better than I imagined — think grilled fish and a silly fondue-on-a-mountain moment, not one-note camp rations. The group gelled fast, probably because Alex made it easy, so you end up laughing at the same dumb things. First saw them online, friend swore by it, so I tried it. It exceeded my already-high hopes. Worth the fuss, seriously.

TransportI ride with more confidence on weekend trips now, and have a few new go-to runs. Small thing, but I appreciated not having to juggle cars, lift lines or bookings. Felt relaxed the whole time — honestly, a great reset.
Rocky views, friendly guides, sketchy logistics
Rocky views, friendly guides, sketchy logistics
On-sitethe Rockies part was gorgeous and the two guys leading us were really solid, but don’t expect perfect logistics if you’ve got special food needs or want quiet campsites. I actually first heard about this trip on a friend’s Instagram and thought, yeah, sign me up — and I’m glad I did for the scenery. The hikes themselves were memorable and the guides knew the trails, I tipped them at the end because they earned it. That said, a few things tripped us up. We asked for halal/kosher and sugar-free meals ahead of time — filled forms, emailed the booking agent, chatted — and it apparently didn’t make it to the campsite cooks. I ended up eating things I shouldn’t have and was pretty hungry a couple of times; another person in our group who’s vegan had similar trouble. Campsites were a mixed bag: one was right by an obvious generator, the other was beside a rail line, so sleep was patchy. Bathrooms were a hike from our tents, especially at the first stop. Also, someone had told me “anyone can do it,” but some of the sections aren’t great for total beginners — pace and terrain are more demanding than advertised. Still, overall I’d recommend it if your priority is top-notch mountain views and friendly guides, just don’t go in expecting flawless coordination on special diets or ultra-quiet nights. Worth doing, just go in with realistic expectations.
